Re: v6.45.5 [stable] is released!

Web-Proxy Access Redirect is still failing to redirect. Reverting to 6.44.5 corrects the problem. See Ticket#2019082422001346 for more details.

Re: v6.45.3 [stable] is released!

web proxy is not working with stable 6.45.3 on hAP Lite, not with the redirect firewall rule, nor with the explicit setting of the proxy server in the browser . Did work before, returned to long term 6.44.5 and it is working again. Why a web-proxy on such a small device, without even caching someth...

First, understand that this is a wild shot in the dark. I don't know how Twitch handles data. I'm starting from the extreme regularity of the drops. This would say to me that a timer is involved. The only timers I can think of that would be in the 10.3min time frame are the connection tracking timer...

Re: Feature request - static content web server

I believe I have a very valid reason to want to serve a small redirect page from the MikroTik. I wish to gather variables from the router related to the user making the request and post the results to a real web server. I believe this would be simpler than having to create an API interface from the ...

Re: DHCP+Radius fun [SOLVED]

I'm battling essentially this same situation. I have verified that if I release the IP and then renew, the IP pool changes based on wether or not the account is enabled. But if the DHCP lease is not released and the account is changed to disabled, DHCP renewals don't change pools. I'm running on v6....

Re: remote ssh via script

This may not directly relate, but I was having a similar problem getting a script to use fetch to upload a file. It turned out that the script had to have the "test" policy checked?!? You might give it a try.

Re: Do any queue types respect Priority markings?

Ok, so are there any other ideas as to how I would prioritize all other traffic ahead of MSDO for dynamic services like PPPoE on a per-customer basis? What you might be able to do is use the PPPoE on-up and on-down script to locate the dynamic simple queue that was added and automatically add child...

Re: Do any queue types respect Priority markings?

Another (perhaps simpler) way around this - if you use sfq as the default queue type for your PPPoE customers, it might try to somewhat equitably prioritize MSDO vs other traffic. This can help prevent MSDO from using all of the customer bandwidth without having to set up complicated child queues. ...

Re: Do any queue types respect Priority markings?

Have to admit, I haven't tried this kind of configuration with children inside child because I never worry how customer uses his bandwidth, i just worry to deliver him what he requests. If he chooses to eat all bandwidth with torrent, so be it. I do agree with this point of view in general. But whe...

Re: Do any queue types respect Priority markings?

OK, so I implemented your suggested Queue Tree with little modifications to fit my setup and understanding. I have added a mangle rule that marks all packets not marked ToS-Bulk as ToS-Other. I choose 2M instead of 10M to make the downloads take longer, giving me more time to inspect results. I coul...

Re: Do any queue types respect Priority markings?

That is a lot of simple queues you would need to create for each customer. Mikrotik says that they have improved a lot the performance of simple queues, but I haven't tried it in real world since I am a lot more comfortable with queue tree. The good thing about queue tree is that all queues are tre...

a two seconds search in RavenWing71 posts would have told you that: http://forum.mikrotik.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=116754&p=577464#p577464 Well, I'm not that well educated forum user but thank you anyhow! ;-) Just a thought - will that also capture the actual p2p traffic that is initiated in a step ...

Re: Do any queue types respect Priority markings?

They each get a simple queue created dynamically when their PPPoE Connection is authenticated through RADIUS. Because they are dynamic, I can't do more than pick what Queue Type will be used. You mentioned that customers are dynamic and thus you can't apply the queue to your needs, so I offered an ...

Good idea, worth checking out! And if you are lucky it might be possible to apply some kind of RADIUS custom attributes. Re: Do any queue types respect Priority markings?

Well, you know that to have priority work it needs a reference, meaning queue1 has higher priority to queue2. That's why the queues need to be related as in queue tree. When they re not related, it is not possible to apply priority. In case of pppoe users, do not set limits on the profile of users,...

Re: Do any queue types respect Priority markings?

MSDO - Microsoft Delivery Optimization Customer A has a 3Mbps account and customer B has a 2Mbps account. Their bandwidth is not shared. Re: Do any queue types respect Priority markings?

OK. So I've seen multiple mentions of creating a queue tree for priority, and then shaping in simple queues. As an ISP, I fail to see how this could work. I have identified an obnoxious service (MSDO) that will forcibly consume all of the bandwidth for a given customer when it fires up. But since MS...

Do any queue types respect Priority markings?

I've been combing the Wiki and searching the forum for days. The only thing I can find is that the WiFi drivers will use the Priority marking to make WMM decisions. Do any of the Queue Types available in ROS respect the Priority mark in any way? I need to be able to demote the priority of a certain ...

Re: Mark MS services, updates?

I was only after the MS Delivery Optimization service that they added in Windows 10 for doing Windows Updates and MS Store downloads. This is what I found: /ip firewall layer7-protocol add name=MS-DoSvc regexp=User-Agent:.Microsoft-Delivery-Optimization then in /ip firewall mangle make a rule that u...

Re: PCQ base Tree for whole subnet

I'm looking for pretty much the same thing. I want to use PCQ to shape traffic, but I want to prioritize certain traffic within each sub-queue of PCQ. MikroTik RouterOS Workshop QoS Best Practice as well as other forum posts recommend that ISPs use PCQ in a queue tree for shaping their client traffi...

Re: UPNP with multiple external ips and multiple internal subnets

I have essentially this same question. I'm setting up one router for 4 apartments, each with it's own subnet and NATed to one of 4 IPs on the WAN interface. This allows me to control the download speed to each apartment in another router at the head end. But I would like to enable UPnP for all 4 apa...
