status: ERROR: handshaketimedout (6)

Hi
I was confronted with this error in GNS3 2.2.2 + VMWare Wx Pro (15.5) when trying to renew the licence of my CHR instances
It seems to be linked to the Network Adapter "mapping mode"
When in NAT mode I get the error. However if I set it to Bridged mode the licence renewal functions fine

Hi DVM

Thanks for your response

Silly me, I should have checked more thoroughly

For some reason the Dude server got caught by one of our firewall rules

Hi

A user asked me recently why it was that one could disable the hardware offload on a port included in a bridge (6.42) and I was unable to give him a reasonable answer

Could anyone give me a few suggestions for why one would want to forgo the use of this valuable option ?

Is it possible to interrogate a router hotspot via SNMP in order to obtain the current active users ?

Is there any accurate way to obtain the current number of active users without having to open Winbox ?

Re: IP plug and play

Thanks for your reply Discus

I should have mentioned that the Zyxel hotpot devices (g4100 or n4100)
for example, and others aswell I'm sure, can assign an IP address to a
customer whether he/she is in DHCP mode or not.

That is the behaviour I was trying to obtain from the RB

possible ?

Traffic shaping - prioritizing the essentials

Hi This past week I have been working on a bandwidth traffic shaper for one of my hotel clients. Situated at the end of an ADSL line all they have is 2MB/700K, so come summer the user complaints begin. They already have a Zyxel N4100 hotspot in place. I started off with a 450, which I soon replaced ...

Re: Mangling routing

Caci99: 192.168.1.0/24 CelticComms: true, hadn't thought of that (though in our present scenario this wouldn't be an issue) samsung172: thanks for the contribution I finally replaced the ADSL modem that was acting as default gateway - the mangling routing rule operated properly after that - go figur...

IP plug and play

Hi

Is it possible to setup an RB device to act as DHCP server
and to pply IP plug and play distribution of addresses
i.e. even if the workstation is already equipped with a static
IP address, the server will 'allow' the workstation through ?
Or is is this solely a hotspot feature ?

thanks

Mangling routing

Hi I setup a mangle rule to place a routing mark on all traffic emanating from a specific subnet e.g. 192.168.11.0/24. Then I used this routing mark in a route to direct this traffic towards a specific gateway. I was surprised that I also had to specify a protocol and destination port n° (e.g. tcp 8...
