Re: Wireless disconnected, group key exchange timeout

I meant the RouterOS version on your router(s)? I would concentrate on one specific machine and use the syslog that MT provides and set up a filter to filter that individual machine so you can watch it separately.. then mess with the settings on that computer relating to the power management / idle ...

Re: Wireless disconnected, group key exchange timeout

What version is your router and is there anything in common with the clients? Are they all using the same hardware?

Re: Wireless disconnected, group key exchange timeout

Bitto - Is there anything in common with your +30 users? Are they all on the same model of computer or anything like that? At my client there is only one user having the issue and they're on a dell laptop which I believe has some weird power management stuff associated with the wireless. I've had hi...

Re: Wireless disconnected, group key exchange timeout

So are we to assume that this was a client side issue? I am having this same issue at a client of mine - same error message. v5.26 set up with dynamic keys using wpa2-psk and aes ciphers. Client's connection on laptop will drop out and take a minute or two to re-establish. What is the group key upda...

Re: 6.3 DHCP option how to enter

2. using Winbox, only single quote should be used:
I listed in my first post that I had tried all combinations of quotes in winbox - nothing worked. It will not take a single quote - still gives invalid data type. When I do it from the terminal it works using both quotes.

Or the this way
See my post:

viewtopic.php?f=1&t=71873#p365190
This worked through the terminal but not through winbox - but nevertheless it's entered.

Thanks!

Re: 6.3 DHCP option how to enter

Is there someone from Mikrotik that can chime in here? This is holding me up. I know these routers are inexpensive but if I can't get a basic function like dhcp to work right and can't get support they are useless to me. Can someone please help?

Re: 6.3 DHCP option how to enter

Sorry for the option number 66 no quotes for the value put quotes
I really appreciate your trying to help, however you have completely missed the fact that I have already tried to enter the value in with quotes and it does not work. Hence my post on the forums.

Anyone else?

Re: 6.3 DHCP option how to enter

v6 you must quote text '66'
Thanks for your reply, however it makes me wonder if you read the complete text of my posting... the part about where I said I tried to enclose in single quotes?

Re: NAT Port Mapping question

If you are trying to forward two different outside ports to the same inside port on the same inside ip that is an overlap and I don't believe that will work. I have not met a firewall device yet that allows you to do that.

6.3 DHCP option how to enter

Hi,

I am trying to set up dhcp option 66 with a text value of ftp://blahblahblah and it's giving me invalid data type no matter what I enter for the value. Tried single quotes around it and double quotes - no way that I can find to get this value into the dhcp option.

Is this a bug?

Re: Problem with 5.21 upgrade

This has to be a problem with the RouterOS. I back-revved them to 5.20 and still had the problem. Then I downgraded back to 5.14 and the problem went away. I'm not sure what happened between 5.14 and 5.21 but something is causing disconnection issues.

Problem with 5.21 upgrade

Hi, I have a network of 4 RB-751s and I upgraded them all last week to 5.21. They were previously on 5.14. Since the upgrade I'm getting complaints from all the wireless clients that they are dropping connection multiple times throughout the day. One guy said it is happening as often as every 15 min...

Multiple RB751Gs with Dual SSID and vlan setup

Hi, Appologies if this has been asked before - I searched for wireless vlan and it returned 765 results... and I wasn't able to find anything very quickly. I need some help setting up a scenario at my church. Right now I'm testing on my kitchen table and so far have been unsuccessful... What I would...

Re: openvpn

I am having the same problem. Yes, the error is clear, however how do you configure MT to hand out the subnets properly? If you set up a dhcp pool the addresses will be linear and across the /30. If you set up Local/Remote addresses for each client then you have to mess with route-up entries for eac...

Re: Can't import private-key.pem

I sent a note to support@microtik.com to update it. I don't know if/when it will happen but it's kind of important since people will spend unnecessary amounts of time trying to make something work where just an additional bit of information will save them some time.

Re: Can't import private-key.pem

OK... someone needs to modify those instructions on the OpenVPN certificate stuff. The key that the MT generates is a pkcs8 format and it specifically states on the wiki: Warning: RouterOS does not support keys in pkcs8 format. To import keys in pkcs8 format run command: openssl rsa -in myKey.key -t...

Well... I had removed the configuration from the router not knowing how long it would take to get a response and when I put the configuration back in everything came up. Re: Ipsec can not establish to cisco

Show the config from both sides. I've got an IPsec tunnel happily running between RouterOS 5.7 and an ASA 8.4.
I can show the config easily enough from the Cisco.. what command do I use for RouterOS? I pretty much use winbox exclusively for configuration.

Re: Ipsec can not establish to cisco

I know this topic is old, but I too am getting this attempting to establish to an ASA-5510 with 8.2(5) on it. When I look at the ipsec box where the SAs are listed, it shows "none" for Auth Algorithm and Encr Algorithm. This tells me that the two sides don't appear to be negotiating the proposal pro...

Just tested it again and cleared the arp cache on the router and everything works.

Now I am on to creating the endless dst-nat entries for my setup.

Re: Port forwarding to specific multiple IP's

I am going to upgrade the router to RouterOS 5.3 and try again. If it still doesn't work I'd almost have to say it is a bug. A bit of information I forgot to add is that from the outside, I am unable to ping the second IP either where I can ping the first IP. Come to think of it, could this be an ar...

I have two /29 subnets. Right now I'm just trying to get two IPs from the first subnet working. For example sake I'm going to use the subnet 198.2.2.8/29 I have both IPs (198.2.2.9 and 198.2.2.10) assigned to the WAN interface (port 5) I have a cisco T1 router on 198.2.2.13 which is the MT default g...

Re: Port forwarding to specific multiple IP's

Did you ever get this to work? I'm having the same issue. Simply adding the dst-address of the alternate public-ip doesn't work. It seems like it should, however I'm not sure what's happening. I am trying to replace an Endian firewall box with my Routerboard 750G but until I can get my multiple publ...
