Re: Use RB1200 as a switch since I can't do QOS

Easier said than done. Would you happen to have a short walkthrough available for this?
I just don't want to buy more equipment so this will have to do.

Use RB1200 as a switch since I can't do QOS

I am getting tired of trying to prioritize VoIP whether its through vlan or high priority queues as I just don't know what to do here. I can't seem to find the tos/dscp values for the Mitel 5220's or any other way of prioritizing VoIP on my mikrotik router so instead I am thinking... Use ether1 for ...

Whitelisting several IP's to all inbound connections

I might be spoiled in hoping for this but is there a WinBox GUI method of making an Address List to only allow certain IP's or IP ranges from incoming connections and drop the rest? I think this will be the easiest method to secure an Asterisk deployment, please correct me if I am wrong. Example: et...

Re: PPTP connection for Winbox connection

Thanks!
Yeah, rookie mistake. I was trying to program a system that was under that IP then moved it over and can't change either now.

PPTP connection for Winbox connection

Hi, I have 2 business LAN's in two different area's that have routers on the same IP locally. This means for example: 192.168.1.1 is my router's gateway IP while it is also the gateway on other end. Running Windows 7's PPTP client to connect in. When I open WinBox and try connecting it sees my route...

Authenticating clients through MAC address

I have a Mikrotik that uses ether1 for WAN, ether6 as LAN. ether6 has dhcp server running. I want to only allow network traffic/internet access to MAC addresses that are somehow authenticated to the router. Is there any way to do this? In a better scenario I'd know how to configure a vlan on top of ...

Re: New Install - Unable to reach internet

Narrowed it down. Just when going to any https site it gives me the 404 error. Other protocol's don't give me any prob such as port 80. I'm typing this over the mikrotik now so it shows that it does work, just ... an odd issue. Still don't have a solution. Edit: Wasn't being honest in showing my log...

Re: New Install - Unable to reach some sites

Updated DNS settings to openDNS servers. No change. I use ether1 as internet. Then ether6 as lan. Okay, I set it so that: /ip firewall nat add action=masquerade chain=srcnat disabled=no out-interface=ether1 No success. f/w is upgraded to 5.5. Any other suggestions I might try? edit: I guess this is ...

Solved: New Install - Anything over https/443. Get error 404

I just put a Mikrotik RB1000 in and am having some trouble finding out what I did wrong. I get forced into HTTPS zone's after typing links like 'gmail.com' and it isn't the right HTTPS site either. I can't seem to get into some sites like facebook, gmail or yahoo mail. Whenever I go there it says "S...
