Re: Public-Mikrotik-Bandwidth-Test-Server(s)

207.32.194.24 test server may be down.

It doesn't respond to ping. Traceroute shows the last reachable hop as 207.32.194.6

Re: Public-Mikrotik-Bandwidth-Test-Server(s)

Is the bandwidth test server down? The last successful test I ran from two different routers on three different WAN connections was Dec 28. can you ping the btest server ? Tom, I could ping the btest server when it wasn't able to connect for the bandwidth test. Not sure if you changed something but...

Re: Public-Mikrotik-Bandwidth-Test-Server(s)

FYI - re: TCP testing. I believe this is a config issue for Tom's server as I just tested successfully using TCP using Martooo's public server.

Re: Public-Mikrotik-Bandwidth-Test-Server(s)

Hi,

Are others having issues with tcp based testing? My udp tests are fine but tcp getting zero throughput.

Re: Routes with check-ping should only become active if they can ping the gateway

Every so often the cable modem reboots (I think due to maintenance by the cable provider). Hence why the interface goes down is out of my control.

Either way is my request unreasonable? i.e. a route with check-ping should only become active if the gateway IP is ping-able?

Re: Routes with check-ping should only become active if they can ping the gateway

Yes that is exactly what happens. Interface goes down and the routes become inactive. When the interface comes back up they become active again even though the gateway IPs cannot be pinged. It then takes 20 seconds before they become inactive again (two 10 second interval pings have to fail). My &qu...

Re: Routes with check-ping should only become active if they can ping the gateway

Here... let me break things up to be more readable. Sorry about that. First... These routes force traffic to specific destinations over specific routes. Either via the CABLE connection with gateway 67.253.120.1 or via the LTE gateway at 192.168.50.1. The blackholes are there because if the specific ...

Routes with check-ping should only become active if they can ping the gateway

I've successfully implemented the advanced routing failover using: https://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Advanced_Routing_Failover_without_Scripting When the cable modem fails the connection switches over immediately to an LTE backup and that works well. I've noticed, however, that when the cable modem res...
