Re: Verizon UML 295 support

Are we able to use IP pass through with UML295 or is it working only in a double NAT scenario?

Re: RB2011 watchdog stuck after upgrade

Rebooting and disabling watchdog temporarily fixes the issue. One day later, all the windows are empty and the log shows scrolling messages saying "timeout while waiting for program X", where X=16,20,44,96. The issue is happening on the same routers that had issues with kernel failure. Screen Shot 2...

RB2011 watchdog stuck after upgrade

Hello, During last 2 weeks I've upgraded several RB2011 to ROS 6.38.5 and latest firmware (3.33). All of them are dialing an openvpn connection to a central server for management purposes. Also, all have a watchdog rule to reboot if they cannot ping the VPN management IP. Yesterday, that management ...

Socat like proxy

Hello, Is there a way to get a socat like behavior on ROS? I have several devices behind Mikrotiks that have a different default route and without possibility to add routes on them. The only way I can connect to them from Mikrotik side is via an IP in the same IP range. Having a Linux there is not a...

What do you use for external power supply? The 2011s are powered from 2 different sources and I would like that for USB modem also.

Pantech UML290 reset

Hello, I have several Verizon Pantech UML290 USB modems, each connected to a RB2011UiAS. They work fine most of the time, but they are disconnecting from time to time. Logs are getting full with messages like: async, ppp, info vz: initializing... async, ppp, info vz: reseting link... async, ppp, info vz: ...

Re: multiple power input

I have done this on RB2011, but will it work on RB450G ? According to the guide here: http://i.mt.lv/routerboard/files/rb450G-qg_1377089382.pdf Powering The device accepts powering from either of the two power jacks, or from the LAN1 Ethernet port: • direct-‐input power jacks J801/J803(5.5mm outsid...

Re: Feature Request: OpenVPN [ovpn] udp tunnels

I just hope they support OpenVPN UDP. I just don't get it why MTK refusest to implement this feature. Their passive-agressive answers on this forum are at least weird. They are inviting you to look someplace else. Too bad, it is a great product, flawed by some really bad choices. Too much "russian" ...

Re: Force ARP packet on VRRP Master state change

It's most likely the switch. Any idea if that is a feature that I should look on switches? Or do you know any 5p switch that works in this setup? I would rather change the switch than put even more scripts for workarounds.

Thanks!

IPSec not working multiple policies -same subnets

Hello! I am trying to setup 3 RB750s like that: - one site A - as L2TP/IPSec server - the other site B1 and B2 as clients to A. The network behind B1 and B2 is the same. The problem I have is that when I setup the IPSec policies with same subnets but different endpoints, it disables one of the rules...

Re: L2TP routing debug

Hello!

Actually this was not a routing problem, but an IPSec problem, due to the fact that I have 2 different policies for the same networks, but with different endpoints. Once I disable one of the conflicting policies, it works fine. I will open another thread for that problem. Thanks!

Re: Force ARP packet on VRRP Master state change

Any luck on this? I have more or less the same problem: it works fine falling to the backup, but once main is back, I have to wait over 2-3 minutes until the network computer see the virtual gateway.
Due to my setup I need to switch back to the main router, once this is back online.

Re: L2TP routing debug

NAT is disabled on both routers. I do not see any kind of packet at the ends, with tcpdump.

Although I do not want NAT, I want to try that too. How do I enable NAT passthrough?

Thanks!

L2TP routing debug

Hello! I have this setup: PC A - RB750 A <- L2TP/IPSEC -> RB750 B - PC B I've made the setup according to this link http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/L2TP_%2B_IPSEC_between_2_Mikrotik_routers The problem is that I am not able to reach PC B from PC A or PC A from PC B. Re: Performance Enhancing Proxies

OpenVPN proto UDP works very well on high speed sat links (10mbps down/4mbps up), without PEP. Unfortunately, MTK implementation of OpenVPN does not support udp (and comp-lzo), so it makes it pretty useless. I wonder why is even implemented, since the main features of OpenVPN are not working. I've r...

I've found a PEP for Linux - PEPsal, which seems to be implemented in openwrt. However, it is an older version and I am not really interested in an openwrt platform.

Hello,

Did anyone implemented PEP (Performance Enhancing Proxies) with Mikrotik hardware, for enhancing VPN performance over high speed satellite links?

Thanks,
