x86 Dude Agent keeps disconnecting and doesnt auto reconnect

Hello, I have a second x86 Dude acting as an agent for my primary x86 dude installation. It connects initially, but disconnects at some point and doesnt auto-reconnect. Then, if I manually click connect from the primary Dude server, it reconnects and works for another random amount of time. Is there...

RBSXTG-5HnD range and height question

Is there a minimum range between RBSXTG-5HnD devices?

The site were using these is about 1.5KM distance between points and do have site to visibility with no obstructions.

Also, the first site is about 11 meters up the second 8 meters up. Is the height differential a problem?

Thanks.

Not sure if its ever been mentioned, but a Neorouter client or server for RouterOS would rock.

Re: Queue tree not working

If global-in and global-out are now gone and replaced with just global, then how can we set different queue rates for children on egress and ingress without the parent globals?

Also, this page should be updated to remove the global-in and global-out now.

Looking Glass Type Software for RouterOS Request

For Cisco, Juniper, Zebra/Quagga, there are tools made for troubleshooting from a web interface such as Looking Glass software that presents a simple web interface for doing BGP queries as well as traceroute's and pings. Is there such a program designed to work with ROS 5.x/6.x ? I am not a programm...

Re: My RB751G-2HnD is very slow

Duplex mismatch or bad cable(s) will cause this too. Some ISP's hard code their 100Mb port to full duplex. An auto detecting 100Mb port might negotiate half duplex when the other end is full duplex. Configure your WAN port as full duplex and see if it gets better. Change out cords. Make sure they ar...

Winbox not Saving Sessions

Winbox isnt saving its settings in %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming\Mikrotik\Winbox\. Winbox is also saving the .dll's it downloads in the %USERPROFILE%\Download folder, not the %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming\Mikrotik\Winbox\ folder. I tried deleting the Mikrotik folder to see if it would re-create it, ...

Or do you mean the Ethernet "LAN" interface doesnt show "R" status and the TX/RX counters are zero even though your PPOE interfaces show activity?

Re: WAN Failover with Dynamic IP from ISP and default route

Same here. That article: http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Advanced_Routing_Failover_without_Scripting Doesnt work for me either. Only the recursive addresses are reachable via the static routes, not anything else following the default routes pointed at the recursive address. Is there something missing ...

Re: voip problem

Make sure your Atcom phone is configured to use SIP NAT Keepalives. Any SIP phone behind nat needs this to keep the "connections" or "xlat" or "nat xlat" or other definition of UDP transformations from expiring. Lots of firewalls need this. I had Cisco 7960's in SIP mode unable to receive inbound ca...

Re: tftp-server-name option in DHCP-SERVER

Copy/pasting the ietf.org website is cool and all, but doesnt help us with Mikrotik and the DHCP options. The only example in the wiki is a static route and the value is in hex. Do all DHCP options need to be in hex to work? or in quotes? or in the case of option 150 in the example, perhaps "4,10.0....

Re: Dude changing Mikrotik routers configuration dynamically

Ill try that too. I just thought that if a single Dude could handle it for say 20+ routerboards out in the field, parameters could be changed in one place and affect them all with the automation in once spot. Say for example, backbone provider A has sudden up/down flapping and 10 routerboards in dif...

Re: route traffic over sstp link

Try using the SSTP interface name as the gateway for the far end LAN instead of the IP.

Using the IP address of the SSTP endpoint might follow the default gateway on the originating router before the tunnel is established.

I use SSTP tunnels with OSPF on them and it works great.

Dude changing Mikrotik routers configuration dynamically?

I was wondering if its possible to have Dude SSH to a Mikrotik to change the configuration on the fly. For example, if an SNMP poll of ETH3's RX is over 10Mb for 3 30 second polls, Dude might issue a configuration change to the Mikrotik to change the default gateway to ETH4 until 3 more 30 second po...

Mangle Rules Order/Matching

Do mangle rules get processed in order?

I have two mangle rules and both rules are being hit by each packet and the last matching rule is the packet mark that wins.

Id like the first matching mangle rule to mark the packet and no more possible matches with other mangle rules.

Re: WAN Failover with Dynamic IP from ISP and default route

Another way that is working for me is to also uncheck "add default route" in the DHCP client entry and instead add a static route of 0.0.0.0/0 with a distance of 1 for your preferred interface and the same static route with a different distance pointed to the next preferred interface. Just use the i...

Re: 750g poor (slow) performance issue

I have a 750gl (which is 400Mhz as opposed to your 680Mhz faster CPU) and it gets me 52Mb from my Cable Modem. So, 20Mb shouldnt be the limit. Make sure you have the latest firmware 5.14 (as of this post). Also make sure you arent using bridges. You can slave other ports off a single one to use the ...

Spill Over type Load Balancing

Hello, In cases of multiple asymmetric ISP services, the various types of load balancing examples on the Wiki really dont seem to apply since none of them are sensitive to the speed of the upload and download of each WAN. If WAN1 is a 50Mb upload/4Mb download Cable Modem and WAN2 is a 20MB Download/...

Winbox MAC Based config for SWos?

I was wondering if Winbox MAC based configuration will be available for SWos in the future?

Having to set my pc to 192.168.x.x to get into the web interface is a bit cliche.

One of Mikrotik's strengths is its lightning fast, always able to connect Winbox.

Try setting the distance on the Advanced tab to "indoors"

I have found this change makes a huge difference when using the R52Hn as an AP.
