Re: Small Web Server on RouterOS, please.

Web server can be used to host browser-based performance tests, which are extremely useful.

Re: Feature request: NS in static DNS

The SMB server in v6 was only pointed out (partly in jest) to highlight MikroTik's absurd priorities. Doesn't look like it even installs SMB server unless the device has USB. And I assume it's disabled by default even if USB is present, in which case it's not really bloatware. In and of itself, I do...

Re: Feature request: NS in static DNS

I kind of want to be in the Mikrotik meeting where they decided to add Samba server and not fully functional NS. Just to hear how that conversation went.

Re: Feature requests

EoUDP - Ethernet Over UDP, similar to EoIP, but carries data over UDP. One end is 'server', one end is 'client'. Server port can be set to user's choice, client port determined by OS/NAT. Has adjustable ping to maintain end-to-end connectivity. Simple and high performance ethernet tunneling for scen...

Re: Feature request: openvpn topology subnet mode

I am echoing this request because I'd very much like to see it but it's preety clear that MikroTik doesn't much care about OpenVPN and has no intention of fixing the way it is implemented no matter how many customers complain about it.

IPSec/L2TP not working

I cannot get L2TP/IPSec working with ROS 5.8 on x86. I did contact support, they replied once but did not answer my followup... Edit: ROS 5.9 does not work either. PPTP, SSTP is fine. I have tried the L2TP/IPSec from Win, Mac, iPhone clients and all have failed. Tried clients from both behind NAT an...

Re: OpenVPN - TCP

hmmm well they spent all that time implementing openvpn only to cripple it once they were done? i thought long and hard about why mikrotik would do this and i came up with a theory, it drove them so crazy they wanted to punish the people who were going to be using it! maybe they can be more specific...

Re: OpenVPN why not support UDP ?!

openvpn is terrible, i'll be the first one to admit it, but it's very much essential for vpn deployment in certain locales. sstp is an unacceptable alternative because it's specific to vista/7, and over a third our users have macs. openvpn-udp also performs better then sstp, and it most certainly pe...
