Re: MikroTik RB951G-2HnD

Thanks guys.
Yes I'm aware that firewall will limit the speeds but my current router it limits me down to 10% of the bandwidth which is unacceptable.

Re: MikroTik RB951G-2HnD

5.45 MBps is like 43.6 Mbps - is this is what your ISP is limiting you ? Is this WAN to LAN Ethernet speed ?

Re: MikroTik RB951G-2HnD

Hi normis I'm interested in these kind of tests this guys perform here , please notice the WAN to LAN and LAN to WAN Routing Performance numbers: http://www.smallnetbuilder.com/wireless/wireless-reviews/32239-ac1900-first-look-netgear-r7000-a-asus-rt-ac68u?showall=&start=1 The way I was doing my tes...

Re: MikroTik RB951G-2HnD

Thank you InoX. Yes I want to use just one WAN ethernet port, 4 LAN ethernet ports + 1 Wi-Fi LAN and I want to make sure it can handle Ethernet speeds WAN to LAN (I'm not interested about Wi-Fi for now ) up to the speed my ISP provider offers me, which is up to 1Gbps bandwidth. My current buffalo ro...

Re: MikroTik RB951G-2HnD

When you are referring to the CPU bottleneck are you referring to the CPU of the router or the CPU of the PC behind the router ? Something else, I've read a review of a guy who owns this router (...) The router also has a "switch chip" function on board, so that the router can be used like most home...

Re: MikroTik RB951G-2HnD

Thank you for your response. I assume those tests are covering WAN to LAN also not just LAN to LAN, right ? I need it just for simple tasks like streaming HD content and torrents download , some light SIP calls and maybe some ssh tunneling browsing. The way I was testing mine was using the external ...

MikroTik RB951G-2HnD

Hi, I'm interest in buying this router for home use. I have a question regarding the throughput WAN to LAN supported by this router ? My current ISP offers me 1Gbps bandwidth but my current dd-wrt router limits drastically the WAN to LAN throughput (I have only 108 Mbps despite its Gigabit ports). S...

Re: is RB250GS capable to handle Full HD streaming ?

Ok for those who told me that ' something else is the problem ' without telling what ... I've replaced the switch today with RB250GS and the problem went away ... playing the exact same movie for 5 minutes was played fine with just a few interruptions where with previous switch I got interruptions e...

Re: is RB250GS capable to handle Full HD streaming ?

I'm streaming from a laptop (Gigabit Ethernet port) --- > Gigabit switch ---> TV (Ethernet port) , the laptop and TV are getting their IP from a router with 100Mbps ports - where do you think the problem might be ?
If I stream HD (720p) everything is fine ... there are no interruptions.

is RB250GS capable to handle Full HD streaming ?

Hi, Currently I have an ordinary (not managed) D-Link Gigabit switch (small for home - 5 ports) but for some reason is not capable to handle Full HD streaming. Tough is labeled as gigabit switch so in theory it should handle it without any issue but it doesn't. The streamed movie is played with inte...

router recommendation

Hi guys,

I'm looking for a wireless router for Home usage, so I was wondering if you guys can recommend me something from Mikrotik/Routerboard (unfortunately I'm not familiar with Routerboard, yet).

The router I want should have:
- wireless 802.11n
- gigabit ports

Thank you in advance!
