Get the RB4011 with WIFi, you can always keep the other WiFI routers and use them all. Or disable the built in WiFi later. The price difference is not huge, especially if you get a good discount somewhere. The RB4011 is a much nicer device in many aspects, plus has more ports than the hEX.

1. Upgrade
2. System reset
3. Configure the device using Quicket, set mode to HomeAP Dual - for test!

See what speed you get then. Normally this hAP ac3 can get much much more in both bands

Well yes, CHR needs a login name, and will show up in the account that is specified in RouterOS CHR menu. I hope your workaround will help somebody else with similar issues. My recommendation for CHR Is to have your own account and license it yourself.

The problem is if the CHR has a non-trial license, there is no way to do this, as the license in the router will not appear in the account, and cannot be added to the account. It definitely will appear in the account. There must have been some unrelated problem that caused you to resolve it this wa...

You must go into your mikrotik account, then go into your "CHR licenses" menu on the left, find your current installation and click UPGRADE.
Then choose the desired level (P-U), then it will ask how you want to pay.
You can then select the prepaid key.

If both SSIDs are good quality signal, most modern devices choose 5GHz for the speed.
If there is some distance (walls), 2GHz signal is better at obstacles, so at one point, the 2GHz signal will be simply stronger than 5GHz. Then the device usually will choose 2GHz because of signal strenght.

The Home App is to set up your WiFi and that's it.

Re: how to HARD HARD reset hAP ac2

The idea is to protect device against stealing. If somebody steals it, there is no way to get inside and get your passwords and config, also making the device useless to steal (because it is unusable).

So there is no workaround. It can't be used, if you don't know the reformat time setting

Protected mode disables reset and netinstall modes, unless you know a special procedure for the reset button. You would have to hold the button, for example, for 25 seconds, then it unlocks. If you don't know this setting, there is nothing you can do.

It depends on how it is protected.

If only a password is set, simple reset procedure will clear it.
If protected mode is enabled, you can't reset it. You must return to seller.

Just like with anything computer related:

1. read the help text next to the search entry box, there are examples given
2. use quotes and plus sign, just like in any other computer search
3. if search gives too many results, include additional keywords related to your specific issue

Do you have access to the dish configuration interface? If yes, post the configuration. 99.99% chance that the dish is not blocking anything, I can't imagine why somebody would set up a rule to block port 21. Also, can you post an example of your "not working" problem? Where are you connec...

Re: Maximum speed between 2x SXTsq 5 ac

BTest is not a good way to test speed on a link, because it needs a LOT of CPU processing power to generate fake data to send.

Test needs to be:

PC --> SXT1 ~~~~ SXT2 --> PC2

Then do test from PC to PC2. I think you will see much higher "real life" speeds.

If number of ports is the same, there is no difference what model you have. You can see in the export script, that apart from interfaces, most commands are neutral

You can power the in a chain, it works. maximum power is really only reached when all interfaces are at maximum load, in real life, that doesn't happen

Yes, you need netwatch rule. The netwatch can ping some address you know will always be working, like your ISP homepage.
There is a documentation manual you should read: https://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Manual:Tools/Netwatch

They are very different devices for different purposes. Re: Help with Port security SOS [SOLVED]

Yes and no - 802.1x is supported like on every Mikrotik device with bridge functionality, but you need an external radius server for the 802.1x authentication. hAP ac lite doesn't have UserManager (which is an on-board RADIUS server) in ROS 6.x, so I'd be surprised if it was added in ROS 7.x (where...

Re: about layer7 regexp add name=jpg regexp="^.*(post|POST|get|GET).+\\.jpg.+\\http"

Why would you add such a rule to "layer 7" ? This is not an URL matcher. It looks into every packet. It will match even if somebody writes "jpg" in their webpage or email.

It means the device has no access to the internet. If you only just unpacked it, it will not have connected anywhere, you must start with that, before you can upgrade. In the "Quickset" menu, see if your device has found and connected to a cell tower. You mught need to specify a PIN from t...

Depends on how you will download the packages. To disallow change of policy, their group needs "policy" setting removed.
So you could have a user with FTP, Write, Reboot policies: https://help.mikrotik.com/docs/display/ROS/User

Re: MT support refused to fix issues

We did the same tests, no problem. You do have a lot of other configuration on the device. This is the only difference. We asked if you can test with basic config, you refused. What else can we do? There is no other difference, the issue is not in RouterOS. The only difference is your custom settings.
