hAP AX can only work with the wifiwave2 package. We do not have the "old" self made driver for this new chip anymore.

The only way such feature can be turned against you, is if you leave your device open to the world and it gets hacked. With firewall in place, there is no way to get hacked like this, unless the attacker is in your LAN and guessed your credentials. And, like I already mentioned, the feature requires...

You had an old version, this is why the hacker could enable it. In new versions, you must press a button on the device to enable it. This is one more reason to always keep your device upgraded.

Now, did you try to restore access with the hold-time ?

As far as I know, routers always support Active PoE
Most MikroTik devices have passive PoE. If you want to power a MikroTik LTE dish from this port, this will work for that

Most likely the APN is incorrectly specified. Usually wrong APN will work in home network, but not while roaming.
Try internet.tele2.ee or mobileinternet.tele2.ee or ask the operator

There is nothing "long term" about 7.1.5.
It was one of the first usable v7 releases, so it was put there, to avoid "404 not found" message, but 7.4 is MUCH more stable in all regards.

Of course we have a bug tracking system, internal testing procedures and it's all linked with customer reports. A lot of reports are misconfiguration and turn out to be false. A lot of bugs are caused by other bugs, nothing is as straight forward as you seem to think. One improvement in some drivers...

All repeaters lose some speed while doing this re-broadcast. Just not many will admit it. This is a limitation of current technology. Most mesh devices have a separate radio inside, that does the connection to the next unit. Then speed does not drop. We have such extra radio in our Audience devices....

1. You can mount it any way you like, the wifi radiation pattern is roughly spherical for indoor devices
2. Yes, there are several ways to do this, with repeater mode (speed will be 50%) or using 2GHz only for link between devices (your clients only can use 5GHz then)

Re: Mēris botnet information

Contemplating on this subject - wouldn't it be a nice idea for MT or someone outside to create a script, that runs over all public ip's and builds a list of vulnerable MT routers (or get that list from those cocky "investigators" that are publishing stories about Mikrotik), then a second ...

This rule works perfectly for me:

add action=reject chain=blocklist comment="block youtube" protocol=tcp reject-with=icmp-network-unreachable tls-host=*youtube*

please don't use l7 rules for blocking webpages

If you do not install the wave2 package, capsman will work just like before.
Wave2 package is optional and only for a few devices.

there is plenty of documentation http://help.mikrotik.com/docs/

Re: v7.1 is released!

I believe MikroTik did this in part due to complaints: people with routers that have auto upgrade scripts to upgrade to the latest "stable" were complaining that they might have hundreds of devices upgrading to v7 unintentionally when v7 stable was released, and asked for a v7-stable rele...

Re: v7.1 "STABLE" Cosmetic Bug - MNDP - Neighbor Version Hardcoded - Forgotten [SOLVED]

It's not a bug. Webpage release system is not the same as RouterOS build system. If we decide to promote a version to another channel, it requires a rebuild, which seemed like not crucial just for this

To avoid accidental move to v7 from v6, a new channel was added. Use UPGRADE channel for this major upgrade, only if you are sure you are ready for it.

Re: v7.1 is released!

You should only move to v7 if all the needed features are there. A decision was made, that we will not hold v7 release for much longer, because so many people can already use it, and it works great for 90% of users. People with specific needs for specific functions can then test 7.2 or next releases...

Stable means it has no known serious issues affecting large groups of people, like crashes. It does not mean there are all features you want. We continue to work on new features in 7.2 branch.

v6 is still stable and still available, it is not being replaced.

I am not meaning that it will be actually stable, just released in a 'stable' channel.
which version is actually stable, from all RouterOS versions?

Re: Mikrotik router Hacked!!!

If you use a new software version and did not open up your firewall to the whole world, there is no reason to worry about remote attackers.
Also, just don't use the protected bootloader mode. It is only for specific situations, where you want to deny reset and recovery.
