The initial production batch did have an issue with the outer plastic shrinking at a different rate than the inside, causing cracks on the cover when there are big temperature changes. You can redirect users with RouterOS too. You can do it with transparent proxy (block + redirect), but will be more difficult for https.

wAP60 has a specially designed and calibrated beamforming antenna with pre-configured patterns. you can't use it with custom antennas and I am surprised it works for you at all.

When running the latest RouterOS version, try to repeat the issue, and then check for autosupout.rif files in the device. If none exist, make a "supout.rif" file right after it boots. Send it to support@mikrotik.com and we will see what is going on there.

The device is not set up as a CPE from factory. Did you buy it refurbished or from a distributor that has maybe changed the config?

The changes are in a database. They are written to a TXT file when the version is put on the web. When a new version is released, the old TXT file is being overwritten. There are no individual TXT files.

As you saw above: "Estimated Availability: Second week of May". This is from local distributors. It takes some time to send hardware from MikroTik warehouse to other countries. Since it is May already, it is basically two weeks or less. Not such a long time.

Sorry, I saw "link disconnects" as the issue. In this case, enable wireless debug logs and make supout.rif file and email support.

Basically yes. There is no easy way to give you an antenna pattern. Once you roughly align the antennas, beamforming will adjust as needed.

What kind of work do you expect? If this is unknown IP, block it completely.
There are many port scans and attacks on the internet. A good firewall is always recommended.

RouterOS uses very little of open source code. MikroTik is in direct relationship with the CPU manufacturers. We use the official drivers and code. We don't use open source code.

Why can't they just build it in java that is supported by all platforms haha.
Winbox was pure JAVA app until v2.4 actually.
We ourselves use Winbox in Wine, it works great.
