Home app - goes thorugh nothing to do with WAN setup.

What if its PPPoE? Does this just purely rely on a DHCP WAN?
For any kind of funky setups, surely you need the normal MikroTik app, where a lot more options are available. This is for home users with no configuration needs.

There are devices that are manufactured only for use in USA, those you can't unlock. This is why you should only buy from local authorized distributors.

Because RouterOS is made for all devices, but your example with OpenWRT is compiled specifically for one product only.
Until RouterOS doesn't have NPK file for each model separately, it will always be bigger, as it has more drivers inside.

Test needs to be:

Yes and no - 802.1x is supported like on every Mikrotik device with bridge functionality, but you need an external radius server for the 802.1x authentication. hAP ac lite doesn't have UserManager (which is an on-board RADIUS server) in ROS 6.x, so I'd be surprised if it was added in ROS 7.x (where...

Why would you add such a rule to "layer 7" ? This is not an URL matcher. It looks into every packet. It will match even if somebody writes "jpg" in their webpage or email.

We did the same tests, no problem. You do have a lot of other configuration on the device. This is the only difference. We asked if you can test with basic config, you refused. What else can we do? There is no other difference, the issue is not in RouterOS. The only difference is your custom settings.

Re: external antena for hAP Lite RB941-2n

It is hard to say, but most likely yes. Is the main AP router visible from the location you will put SXT Lite2? Since that is an indoor device with a small antenna, no matter what you point at it, it will partially depend on the AP. Communication is bi-directional after all.

Because in the examples I either see custom package sets, or 6.48 beta versions.

Your setup looks good. What is the exact problem that you are facing with it? Signal is weak for devicez using the hAP Lite? How far are they, and what kind of devices are they?

This is correct, Harms. Your mobile operator doesn't give you full access, this is why you only get "WAN". it is possible that LTE provider filters some unknown ports, as you can see in the manual, UDP port 30000 needs to be open by the ISP, to get maximum status. https://help.mikrotik.com...

Re: VNC with MikroTik LMT LTE18 router

Still, I recommend establishing a VPN tunnel before making a VNC connection. And like said above, changing internet service (or asking them politely) to give you a public IP address (static or dynamic, doesn't matter). By the way your router also has a built-in DNS service, just like "NO-IP&quo...

Re: VNC with MikroTik LMT LTE18 router

You can pay LMT to get real IP and consequently, ability to remote into your device. This is a paid service.

Without a real IP address, your only option is to have another router somewhere else, then do a VPN tunnel from your LMT router to the other router, and do remote to that one.

Like above images show, there is no disable button. It is greyed out. You can't disable these dynamic CAP interfaces.

Re: Disable an access point in CAPSMAN? [SOLVED]

No, above answers are wrong.

You must REMOVE it with the minus button. When you need to re-add it, go to tab "Remote CAP" and press the "Provision" button. It will then re-create all the interfaces.

Paul, does the mobile operator give you a public IP ? Most likely not, so regardless of the router used, your device will not be accessible from the outside.

Which option locks you out? The device is configured so, that only LAN ports (2-5) are for management. The first port is protected.
Unless you configured some more things.

Re: Mikrotik router setup?

The NAS usually can set up UPNP rules by itself. What kind of NAS is it? Are you using the correct ports?
Check the "IP -> Firewall -> NAT" section in your router, are there any dynamically added rules, created by the NAS via UPNP?

v6 and v7 can be installed and upgraded on all devices. If you find any problem with storage space, it could mean your device has a hardware problem, or you have installed unsupported extra packages like Dude or User Manager (those should not be used on home routers)

LTE with built in SIM slot will not work, as the slot only supports PCIe type cards, not USB type cards, so you are limited to WiFi cards here (that RouterOS supports, of course)

Re: iOS14 "Use Private Address" Random MAC (Default) and Hotspot

It will not break, iOS14 just says that private MAC could not be enabled, and continues to work as usual. There is graceful backwards compatibility for this feature, otherwise lot of stuff would break, not just for MikroTik users.

Yes, i always install Extra packages zip
don't
In this case remove Extra packages zip for these devices
v7 does this already. Plus, as you know, files ar for architectures, not device models

You can use the "hAP ac" as a "CAPsMAN" server. The mantBox units will be "managed AP" (CAP). All config will be managed by the hAP ac.

Setup is not very complicated.

Re: Why Mikrotik puts only 16MB flash on many devices? (not enough space for upgrade)

If you could remove packages, it means you put them there. The default (factory) set only has RouterOS NPK package and that one can't be removed.
I can just suggest that you do not install extra packages on small NAND devices. User manager, Dude server etc. should not be put on home routers

If you really encounter such issues more than once, please email support with the supout.rif file and we can try to figure out what the problem is.
The SPI/NAND size is not the issue, because upgrade works fine for other people on these products you mentioned.

The question here is probably, why did the router lose signal? Because operators will not upgrade you back to CA, this is the operator decision. They could configure it to work differently, but your operator hasn't. Basically if you lose signal or signal gets bad, you will lose CA band and will not ...
