Re: Redundancy with 2 bridge and LACP switchs

I think that the issue of failover can be done with RSTP. Prior to some version of 3.1 (the one rc8 if i am not wrong) had a bug that did not pass the RSTP packets from the switches on both sides eaven that on MT bridge stp protocol-mode was set to none. I have test this with Cisco catalyst switches...

Re: ROS v3 RC 1

No queues, no nothing, just pure configured bridge. I was having losses also from localy from cable connected workstation to the RB. With Ether2, no problem. As i know first ethernet has different chipset rather two ethernet ports of RB532. Maybe it could be a problem with the driver of the ethernet...

Re: ROS v3 RC 1

Can somebody verify if he is having same problem:
The ethernet 1 (port1) stops forwarding traffic for some time and again works after some period. This is not having problem with port 2 of ethernet which is part of the bridge.
I have the fallowing. RB532, ROS V3RC1, configured as WDS bridge.

Bug after restart

Uldis, I am seeing that you are in case more with UM. Can you confirm if this could be a bug: - After restarting the board that is running UM, the users that have used their time (no time left) have got more credit. For example: A User with credit 5m, after spending his time, the hotspot logs him ou...

I am also interested for this feature. Flat rate monthly accounts.
A very good deployment will be:
Buy a card (username) at ISP store with credit types (15 days,30days,60days etc) and these cards need to be valid from the date that the user started using his account till the written period of days.

802.1x support

Does Usermanager supports 802.1x authentication from devices. Mainly my interest is to support port based authentication of L2 switches. Freeradius has support for EAP.

5Ghz-5Mhz band destroys wireless cards

Hello, I just want to share my experience with others regarding new 5mhz channels. It is for sure that using 5Mhz channels we get better strengh due of focusing the power of card to smaller channel ... but THIS KILLS the WIRELESS CARDS. It works perfectly for a period but after the card transmits ve...

Why you would not use cisco at your core ? I would not prefere to have something like MT at core of the network. I suppose that you dont have time to loose with something that is under development and its not finished yet, like Routing-test package. My style would be, use something that really works...

Radius and MAC authentication

Valon, Your problem sems to be more related to RF. I suppose that a machine with 1.7Ghz can handle a lot more traffic. It depends on what kind of services your provide to end users but in 802.11 eaven in clear area with no interference it is not recommented to connect more than 20-40 users. Since yo...

practicly there is no chance for 5 mbit in multipoint with more than 10 clients mode on each interface. we usually dont exceed more than 3 megs on each wlan interface. maybe it will handle it but the lattency will be very high and even you will have loss. it is very ok if you use it on point to poin...

BUG in 2.9

I think that there is a bug on 2.9beta16. Sometimes the wlan card is lost. You have to restart the rotuer via /system reboot or unplug the power. After that the wlan card commes back. This is happening with RB500 and 5211 card. This is happening only with RB500 and 2.9beta16.

Hello Florim, You should set a Squid machine seprately to do this with Squid and you should use 'delay_pools'. You first have to make a Acesss List ACL that specificies the file formats you want to limit, then you should set a delay pool that limits that ACL. You can Google and get more help on dela...
