Re: PTMP Wireless Wire Dish?

I slightly biased it towards the farther antenna, but pretty close to the midpoint.

Re: PTMP Wireless Wire Dish?

I deployed my test setup for a local golf course and maintenance yard. They only needed about 100 Mbps, so I figured that there was a good chance this setup would give them adequate bandwidth. The two client SUs were at 410 meters and 650 meters, and were separated by about 14 degrees. Each of the c...

Re: PTMP Wireless Wire Dish?

For those who may be curious - I decided to go ahead and risk my $45 for the Level 4 license upgrade. It looks like it is possible to use the LHG60 as a PTMP AP. I successfully connected 2 LHG 60 clients on a bench test (no dishes installed - just the radio units sitting on top of desks about 3 mete...

Re: PTMP Wireless Wire Dish?

Thank you for that information and your experience with the colocated LHG60 and WAP60. I probably should have been more specific about the angle between the two clients. They're actually 2 degrees between the two clients as seen from the AP. I had noticed that the beam forming nature of the LHG60s I...

PTMP Wireless Wire Dish?

I have two locations at about 1000m distance that are within a few degrees of each other. Since they're too far to do comfortably with a WAP60G AP and LHG60s as clients, I was considering the possibility of using a Wireless Wire Dish as an AP. Is it possible to take a Wireless Wire Dish (RBLHGG-60ad...

Re: Safe mode to move to new AP

Thank you for letting me know. I was looking for the built in answer, but I can work with scripting it. I still think a configurable timeout on Safe Mode would be a useful feature (there are certainly those who don't have the ability to create scripts for this purpose).

Safe mode to move to new AP

I'm setting up a new AP so that I can move some clients from a heavily loaded AP to the new AP. I wanted to test each client connection to make sure that it'll connect to the new AP before saving those settings. I tried it with a client SU by putting the router in safe mode (Ctrl-X in a terminal win...

Re: Urgent security advisory

I can upload this /rw/info file if you need it, virustotal analysis shows nothing. These are leftover files. They don't do anything. This is not the program itself, only some remaining things it created. You can delete those if you like, but the device is no longer "infected" as you say N...

Re: Aggressive RouterOS worm infecting our network?? [SOLVED]

srosen, Interesting. I don't think HTTP is the vector (though I could be wrong), mostly because I don't see infected devices making any attempts to contact other IPs via HTTP...just telnet, TR-069, and Winbox. In our case we haven't seen any kind of visible script, either on the (exposed) filesyste...

Re: Aggressive RouterOS worm infecting our network?? [SOLVED]

We were seeing what sounds like it may be the same exploit yesterday. I noticed telnet login attempts from some of our Mikrotiks to other Mikrotiks on our network. When I went to the source box, I could see in the logs something to the effect of "fetch: downloaded .i " (I apologize, I didn...

Re: 802.11n

Has anyone tried using any form of encryption with 802.11n? I'm seeing poor throughput whenever I try to enable any type of encryption. I have a couple of RB600s with R52N cards that I'm bench testing. Right now, I'm having generally good performance - Using HT Extension Channel - above control, Nst...
