Re: PPPOE Issue

After downgrading to 6.32.2:

Router with 1500 active PPPoE, I'm disconnecting segment with ~500 devices.
I see high CPU load when they are disconnecting, but no packet loss and no OSPF neighbors disconnections.

So there IS a problem after 6.33. Please help me to solve it.

Re: PPPOE Issue

@Ghaith93 and @rpra: Symptoms you describe are typical from misconfigured PPPoE concentrators. Trying to make Mikrotik to support you using an old ROS release will lead you nowhere, that's why Mikrotik continuously upgrades and fixes ROS. Unless you post exports of your config, it will be impossibl...

Re: PPPOE Issue

I confirm absolutely same problems on my routers. Heard about same problems even on 1072 with 1k PPPoE sessions. I have even OSPF neighbors disconnects sometimes. During my investigation, I found that problem appeared in ROS 6.33, when *) ppp - added on-up & on-down scripts to ppp profile; functiona...

High CPU load when PPPoE sessions disconnects

I think this problem appeared in some recent versions of ROS. It definitely exists on 6.35.4 and 6.38.1. When we have network outages, some PPPoE sessions are disconnecting with 'peer not responding' errors. In this moments CCR CPUs are 100% utilised, so than router almost stop passing any traffic. ...

SXT 6 and other 6 Ghz stuff [SOLVED]

We are very interested in 6 Ghz spectrum hardware, because here in Russia it's not crowded and allowed for legal use. So we have some questions to MikroTik guys: 1. Do you plan to continue manufacturing SXT 6 for future years? 2. Any plans for some other hardware, maybe boards or mini-PCI-e cards? M...

CCR and OSPF - problems?

We have a network with ~5500 OSPF routes. There are 3 CCRs here, and we noticed that one of them is dropping packets. After investigation we found that "routing" process eats one core to 100% for every 30 seconds (it longs about 1-2 secs). At this moments we are experiencing packet losses. This rout...

ROS guest Virtio ethernet MTU problem

I'm running ROS 6.x as guest under Ubuntu KVM host. Ethernet is virtio, all working pretty nice.

Now I want to try MPLS and have a problems.
ROS does not detect L2MTU of Virtio NIC, so I think nothing will work.

What can I do?

Sorry for not informing in time, I don't remember what exactly solved that problem. I guess that changing NIC is the way. I am still using that server, but with MT NIC. My opinion is that we will never see such features in ROS.
There are much more simple problems and features asked for years never done.

There is no reason to ask for these.

I have a strange setup in my backbone network: we have two CCR's connected via L2 transport vlan of another provider. That L2 is built on old switches and does not support jumbo frames. CCR one core load 100%

What am I doing wrong?
Can't get CCR1016 to route more than 200Mbps bandwidth.
I have >700 pppoe sessions, nat + queue.

Maybe some misconfiguration?
I have large address-lists for routing marks, maybe firewall eats one core?
How to see profile for all cores, like on x86?

Using CCR 1016-12G ROS 6.13
Did not see this problem on x86.

Can anybody help?

I'd better use Mikrotik-Rate-Limit Simple Queues, but there still no CoA for PPPoE.. :(

Re: Hotspot. Need some help from pros!

Try using VLAN's. One VLAN for Hotspot Users, and one VLAN for your devices. Maybe that's a better option. I do know about this possibility, but there is no way to divide them into different vlans. For example I have some simple home TP-Link routers connected via lan ports, some old D-Link APs, man...
