separate vlan for trial users in HotSpot

Hello. Currently trying to implement isolation of Guest users in Hotspot. Is there any way to put trial users into separate VLAN? I can detect all trial users based on ip -> FireWall -> address list to use mangle for marking connections, but due to interface nature of VLans in ROS can't find any way...

Somehow some device are below hotspot, and I have custom port forwarded to antenas winbox...
And no way to feed The dude with it.

I try both utiliti and vbs script. But no way - can't login. The most common utility is http://support.moonpoint.com/downloads/windows/network/Telnet/tst10.php But it seems that there is something withencoding in mikrotik telnet terminal, or who knows... But only Putty can login via telnet - any oth...

I use UTP indoors, and FTP in outdoors connections. This router is more switch than rouer - it have 5 UTP links to another mikrotiks, who works like ap's.

Ethernet interface Up\Down

I saw that all ethernet interfaces on one of mikrotiks are going down, and getting up after one second.
I use ROS 6.15 on RB751G-2HnD. I've attached log screen.
Somebody have any ideas what can cause such a problem?
It worked ok week before, it begun just today :(

There is one more problem with "seamless" wi-fi.
If phone connects to ap1, then phone owner moves to ap2, but phone is still connected to ap1, with bad signal.
Ubiquty use centralized managment to drop clients from far away aps.
It would be nice if capsman could do the same thing.

Sorry to say, but hosting a WINS server on a router IMHO is far less useful than a remote USB implementation. If you really need a WINS server in your network, than that is a job of a dedicated domain controller. Otherwise it's just another "let's just have it" feature. Maybe a WINS proxy...

It would be good to upgrade linux kernel, to have betetter support on VMware ESXi, and to start work in HyperV.
Nowdays we often connect offices via vpn+ospf, but there is no WINS server support in ROS to connect samba shares seamless between offices.

Print server is dead route. All new "home" and soho devicec try to integrate with online servives via wi-fi. We dont need thouse functions for "old" devices support. RoS has many problems with base network support like vlans, still has no WINS implementation, and pretty dead comp...

All is ok on RoS 6,9.
6,10-6,11 doesnt work. You cant get adress from dhcp server via vlan.

did you create virtual ethernet interfaces or assigned physical interfaces to your metarouter instance? you have to do that first, afterwards, metarouter will work as simple network appliance and do your bidding.
Yes, i do that. I even made highest prioritet fow wins server on samba viaweb interface.

I was trying to make some script for interacting with cloudflare service. But I found interesting bug. Here is ticket at cloudflare support. Looks like Fetch command in https mode requests page not by URL, but by ip. It not open "https://cloudflare.com/api...", but requesting "190.93....

Is there any more ways for me like a customer to vote for that feature?
Mtik make a cloud core router, whithout any idea from customers how to use it, but ignor real cloud problem with virtual routers.

It was already stated here http://forum.mikrotik.com/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=47191 that modules in the kernel are disabled, and HyperV is not a priority for Mikrotik.

Damn. New HyperV in Win2012 is awesome. But now to move from ESXi I need to change ros to something else.

It's inaf Hotspot functionality for very basic web site. Dont't do server functionality on a router, don't do torrents on it.
Better make routing things, like: wins support, Ethernet support for GRE etc.

Now you need to make metarouter from openwrt to create wins server on ros. It's not easy and buggy way.

The same problem with rb433 uah
After update, enabled smb, reboot and... RB doesn't boot, and there is only a mess in terminal over serial port.
Even don't know what to do now :( how to repair it?
