[OT] A witness from the past

I was searching for a CF for a low-cost router. I found a CF 128 MB (I think was used before-RB112 era). And I had a (little) jump in the past. witness_past_2018-10-17.png And now, let's upgrade. PS I think I'll not ask Mikrotik to resolve the bug of the 1950 year, with NTP client enabled. I have so...

Re: Copper link longer than 100 meters

I had to link two HDMI extenders with a CAT5e, because they didn't work through a wireless link (I don't know why). Most likely the HDMI extenders didn't work over the WiFi link because it's not Ethernet. Just because it's a RJ-45 connector, does not mean it's Ethernet. For the purpose, there is no...

I had to link two HDMI extenders with a CAT5e, because they didn't work through a wireless link (I don't know why). I'm not sure how long the cable is, but using a badly off cable tester, a SC8108, it showed me ~ 190 meters over all 4 pairs. After some trials (and many tribulations), the HDMI extend...

Re: ipv6 - unable to reach beyond mikrotik.

Your traceroute shows exactly that the ISP router has no routes to you for your LAN addresses. Per ISP docs X:X:X:100::/56 is essentially statically assigned to us. that brings us to : X:X:X:0100::0002 - first usable X:X:X:01ff:ffff:ffff:ffff:fffe - last usable. This makes zero sense. Burst packet loss on CCR 1036

We have three CCR, connected to a CRS via copper, as PPPoE server. Two of them are CCR 1009, the troubled one is the CCR1036.
Randomly, happens no traffic is passed over the LAN interface, even for 20 seconds.
Anybody has seen something like that?
In the next days I'll try with a SFP copper interface.
