Re: LNS for PPP termination

We are using LNS, PPPoE over L2TP tunnels, it works perfect and I recommend 6.39.1 as they have fixed couple of annpying bugs that was crashing some L2TP sessions in a special setup.
In our case Cisco is going out soon ;-)

Good job Mikrotik

It happened to me too, and I found out by changing the MTU from the default of 180 to 1492, all sites open normally.
Again earlier did not notice but recently yes.

We have tested this with Cisco IOS LAC and it works perfectly.

Bring on Mikrotik LAC :)
We are scheduling test for the weekend, is it possible to share your settings?
How many PPPoE session did you see running on the L2TP?
Thanks,

Re: SIP phone through VPN

Thanks all,
We manage to get it working now I have more questions:
What is the recommended VPN that should give the best performance (not much latency) in this scenario?
Sure the SIP voice quality is not best but at least it is working but hope to improve it by any means.

SSTP Site to site

Setup the VPN works good site 1 and 2 are connected LAN to LAN
Now the question is how to force one computer in site 1 to appear as if it connected in site 2 and take the public IP of site 2?
The rest of the traffic in site 1 will go to internet as usual outside of the tunnel.
Thanks,

MLPPP of 2 connections showing many more?!

RB750 firmware 6.18

The MLPPP seems to work however we have only 2 symmetric lines, when bonding if you go to the status it shows that the active links 4, 5, 6 any number.
What is the reason for this or does anyone else see this behavior?

Re: Feature Request - LAC/LNS functionality

Hi hedele,
Thanks for the quick answer. In our case there is authentication but only password (no username).
Is is basically terminating PPPoE sessions for DSL clients on L2TP tunnels. It looks like this might not work then.
Thanks again,

Hi hedele,
Are you sure? Do you use Mikrotik as LNS in production? if yes, what is the max number of sessions that you could run?
Anybody else doing this?
We are interested only on the LNS side so it could be a good news for us.
Thanks

feature request: L2TP LAC/LNS

L2TP is often used by ISPs when internet service for example ADSL is being resold. From the end user, packets travel over a wholesale network service provider's network to a server called a Broadband Remote Access Server (BRAS), a protocol converter and router combined. On legacy networks the path f...

Client base is less than a 1000.
need the following:
netflow (determin the usage for each login credential)
Be able to asign static IP to certain clients
