I just upgraded RB750UP to ROS 5.22 and upgraded poe-out to 2.1. I have not any issue.
Maybe try reset to default device and then upgrade poe-out. If this not help try netinstall.

SXT has always metal ethernet ports. New 711 has also metal port (earlier had plastic).
I have not seen yet 411L with metal port but 411(no L) has metal port.

I think RB951-2n is enough to you needs.
Remember to upgrade ROS to latest version (older version has bugs).

If you need simple switch/router 32MB RAM in RB750UP is enough. The question is what you expect about this device?
If you need poe out (voltage/temperature monitor) take RB750UP, if you need gigabit ports take RB750GL.
