Wireless Country Selection

Hi, Been a long time user and have always resorted to setting my own frequencies. However, recently refreshed my system and been looking to take advantage of automatic channel selection and possibly DFS. System is located in the United States, and inside country settings there’s 3 United States - fr...

iOS & Android App

Noticed Mikrotik is hiring an Android and iOS developer. Wonder if this means we will soon be seeing a Winbox or Dude app on these platforms?

CAPsMAN Registration Table Device IP or Hostname

Hi, Has anyone built or seen a script that will pull all registered CAPsMAN devices, and tie them together (via MAC address) to the IP and "Active Host Name" from the DHCP server leases table? I find myself frequently checking both in order to identify what devices are hanging off certain ...

Updated to RC13, all appears to be working fine. Radios now advertise SGI too:

Re: SGI w/CapsMan

I didn't get to test the group key timeout setting as I rolled back, but I did notice it's not exposed via the Winbox GUI; nor was the online manual updated to show it's existence. However, the "group-key-update" setting is now available under the "capsman -> security" object: /c...

Issue CAPsMAN controlling 5Ghz radios on 6.38 and 6.39rc

Upgraded my CAPsMAN controller (RB1100AH) to version 6.39rc7. This is controlling one wAP AC, one hAP AC lite, and one hAP AC. Once the upgrade happens, I see my 5Ghz network start to feel slow, and all my devices are unable to associate at the higher MCS. Doing a bit of troubleshooting, I'm unable ...

SGI w/CapsMan

Hello, Recently upgraded all my units (RB1100 & 3x hAP AC) from 6.37 to 6.38. After the upgrade I noticed some slowness, so I started to troubleshoot. Noticed that no 5Ghz radios were advertising the use of more than on chain :( . Eventually, I ended up fixing the issue by recreating my CapsMan ...

Re: Curiosity

Your ISP might've not saved their CPE router's config and it rolled back to a previous configuration after the blackout.

Are you able to disable all but one public IP and ping your ISPs gateway (through routerOS)? Try this will all IPs and see which ones are successful.

Re: Routing between VPN

Look at it like this, you have 4 players, they all need to be in the loop: 1) Mikrotik at N 2) Mikrotik at S 3) Cisco at D 4) Whatever you have at D (not mentioned) This is not correct, as i would need to know what your default gateway is for all your devices is on 192.168.0.0/24. However, this shou...

Re: How to setup single wireless bridge to 2 stations ?

You have to make sure the access point board has a level 4 Mikrotik license. Level 3 will only allow you to connect 1 client to the bridge.

Re: Help!!! NATmultiple IP addresses to inside multiple hos

I believe the issues is that your rules qualify on TCP and ports: add action=src-nat chain=srcnat protocol=tcp src-address=192.168.3.89 \ to-addresses=208.202.xxx.80 to-ports=0-65535 Try removing these filters, something like this should be enough: add action=src-nat chain=srcnat src-a...

Re: RB951G-2HND Wireless problem

I've found increasing the frame lifetime to 3 or 4 and your 'distance" to "indoors" (both are in the wireless advanced tab in the GUI) helps with this type of issue. Please let me know what your results are with this unit. I've been thinking of purchasing one for my home.

Re: Tagged VLANs

Have you tried bridging vlan21 to the ether1 on the sxt? If you run torch and activate the vlan monitoring option do you see tagged traffic on the ptplink?

Re: VLAN on three locations with wireless connection.

I believe we need more information in order to help with this issue. What interfaces are you assigning the I addresses? Are you routing between the ptp links or just creating one huge bridge? Remember vlans will only traverse through layer 2.

Re: Need help Wireless Bridge cant see other side subnets

2 things I notice: 1) there is no need to create a bridge interface on the STXs. Since the router has two addresses built into it (the 192.168.x.x & the 172.16.x.x) it treats these as connected routes. This allows the router to route traffic between the two interfaces without having to bridge th...

Re: Need help Wireless Bridge cant see other side subnets

Hello Sir, This is probably not working because routing has not been setup on the gateway routers, the IPs on the bridges are /32s, and there is nothing routing between the 192.168.0.0 & 192.168.1.0 subnet. My suggestion to you is: Configure the SXts so they have a transport network (the network...

Noticed the recently released 6.0rc8 had "wireless - fixed AES encryption speed issues (upgrade suggested)". I decided to upgrade a couple of access points and test. Before the upgrade I was running v5.23, my max 1 session tcp speed was between 18 - 21mbps (one way). After the upgrade, I'm...

Re: MT help us with NV2 for PTMP Please.

I have a small PTMP nv2 network with 4 clients. Initial tests yielded awesome results, TCP bandwidth tests maxed out at around 71-79mbps. However, during the daytime I started getting quick client disconnects. These would last around 5 seconds, but were enough to make our VOIP calls terminate. -Init...
