Re: CRS 3xx - L3 ASIC performance testing

Very very interesting.
Using RouterOS we could use BGP to have some internal routes (less than 1000).
we could route them L3 in hardware...
Is something related to fastpath here? Or can we use some firewall filters?
we wont need conntrack or something similar.

On the link it says: Depending on the complexity of routes in routing table, max HW accelerated route count could change (see table below for min-max supported route count for each hardware). Whole-byte IP prefixes (/8, /16, /24, etc.) occupy less HW space than others (e.g., /22). If HW route limit ...

No. The default are 1 day, so they are fine.
1day may be too much if the router have a LOT of connections.
1 hour keeps the cuncurrent connections low.
It is not a bug. Maybe the 5min is a too aggressive setting.

?!
They are timers that are set by default. We just modified the TCP Established connection from 1 day (default) to 5 min. We now tried to set them to 1 hour.
The reason of the change is that in a border router with conntrack, is formed a huge number of connections!

Well the LAN side of my router towards a routed networks to my internal LAN has MTU 1500. Everywhere on my network the MTU is 1500.

The WAN side of the router goes through a carrier's cloud (mtu 1500) towards my final router.

What are your suggestion for the MTU?

Well.

the default MTU of all the path is 1500 (I mean the path trough my carrier to my remote router)

The MTU of all my phisical interfaces is 1500..

but when I create the tunnel, the tunnel the default MTU of the tunnel is 1476 (since GRE is 24byte header) 1476+1500 is perfect..
