Hello I want to share my idea and in the same time, ask for some questions: We have currently a core router in city1 and another one in city2, connected via 10G fiber link. Re: Severe port flapping on CRS328-24P-4S+ and CRS317-1G-16S+

I have made further investigations. I have 10 CRS328 connected to a CRS317. the only CRS328 that have issues are: 5 CRS with 5mt MT DAC, with 5mt MM fibers. a lot of CRS errors two of them flaps, the other 4 dont flap. I tried to fix everyone of them at 1G to see if it flaps again or give me errors....

Hello. I read this post and checked my fiber pop.
CCR1009
CRS317 where are connected (all via 10G SFP cables), CRS328.
on ten switch, one has sfpplus1 flapping as described.
I will try changing the DAC then I will RMA the switch.

Hello
I got 1649 tx drop on the interface with an RJ01 with AIRFIBER24 from UBNT.
it 4 days and 4 hours.

it is a 500mbit link.
no issues from the customers.

maybe the issue you are describing?
The interfaces are routed between each other, so no mixed speeds in the same bridge.

Hello Perfect. In routerOS will be enabled fastpath then?...

Very very interesting.
Using RouterOS we could use BGP to have some internal routes (less than 1000).
we could route them L3 in hardware...
Is something related to fastpath here? Or can we use some firewall filters?
we wont need conntrack or something similar.

1day may be too much if the router have a LOT of connections.
1 hour keeps the cuncurrent connections low.

They are timers that are set by default. We just modified the TCP Established connection from 1 day (default) to 5 min. We now tried to set them to 1 hour.
The reason of the change is that in a border router with conntrack, is formed a huge number of connections!

the default MTU of all the path is 1500 (I mean the path trough my carrier to my remote router)

The MTU of all my phisical interfaces is 1500..

but when I create the tunnel, the tunnel the default MTU of the tunnel is 1476 (since GRE is 24byte header) 1476+1500 is perfect..

Hello, according to here https://lafibre.info/images/doc/201106_spec_AR8327.pdf

the 8327 has 1Mb buffer, that is enough. HP 2824G has 0,75 and works flawlessy.

IMHO an home router with 5Ghz radios, should be fixed to use the indoor band ONLY of the spectrum. We don't need a 5ghz home router transmitting at 1W EIRP in 5.4 band... We should use it only into the indoor band 5150-5350 max 200mw EIRP.
