I VPN to the office... The route lets me jump across the VPN to the other branch.

I have had my router to router wireguard connection stop working.

Simple fix was to send pings across the link every so often. Hasn't dropped in months.

I recommend typical best practices. Place wired access points where you need coverage.

AX2 antennas are pretty small.

If you are having a range issue... Abandon all hope.

Start putting wires around your place to where you need coverage. Then start putting Access Points there.

So if the port forward request comes in on ANY WAN interface you want it to go back out that connection?

You will need to mark and track the connections for that. That used to be mangle but now its routing table.

I've first seen this issue myself after upgrading to 7.14. Wireless clients could connect to AP but stuck on DHCP. After downgrade to 7.13.5 it was resolved.
Was that on the switch or the router?

Crapedge Switches cause the issue upstream.

Had to press the manufacture on it. They copped to it.

Plan is to add a RBwAPG-60ad-A and move the North facing AP over to another structure.

Use the RBwAPG-60ad-A is a bridge.
Then a RB960PGS-PB as the switch to power everything.

Put both ISPs into that box.

It will give you one PUBLIC IP ADDRESS.

It will handle seamless failover and run on the fastest feed available unless you tell it to do other wise.

CRS310-8P+2S-IN Is what I am dying for over here.

Not the RB5009UPr+S+IN ... THATS A BIG F--KING NO! The ports are shutting down trying to drive Cambium XV2-21X that should top out at 13 watts. Yet the router can't do it. So I had to stack a CSS610-8P on it to make the WAPs keep working.

Also... I have ICMP ping set up in netwatch to the CSS610-8P. Every once in a while it will miss more than 2 of the 5 pings. I get an error note on the router as that's where netwatch is running, which is directly connected to the switch. But since CSS has no logs... I can't track that. I have 4 CSS...

I ran caps man on routers. Access points. Switches. Remote routers.

Wherever I could find some sort of connections between WAPS and controllers.

What you can do is to nake cAP-specific SSID and then configure those clients to connect to appropriate SSID.

Is there a way to use one SSID with one untagged and one tagged subnet.
You can do that with an ACL. But you have to know the MAC address of anything that you want to tag outside of the default VLAN on the SSID.

Its a 56V 60 Watt POE injector.

PowerBoxPro lit right up.
WAP60G reattached to its PtP WAP60G
XE3-4 Powered on at AT power.

Using the 56V 60 Watt Power Supply should get me 25 Watts out if the ports are 450mA.

Out of curiosity, why the CSS610-8P and not, say, the RB260GSP ? We set the power lower in the radios and the WAPs are staying down below 10watts. And not rebooting.

When the CSS610-8P is installed... I will set the power to full and see what switch OS reads back to us.

Yea, you can see that wifi interface which has no connected devices became inactive. It's same thing if you disconnect eth cable from port.

It's a pretty standard configuration. Only significant additional configuration over basic router configuration is setting up of a guest VLAN and some port forwarding. The 5GHz frequency is set to 5500 to get maximum Tx power. Logging is going to Kiwi syslog server free running on my Windows server...

The 3011 and above are a good choice once you pass a 300M connection.

A hAP AC2 will do just below gigabit on it wired ports even without fast track.

If you are gonna use caps... In caps man setup each channel / frequency as a configuration. Then manually set each cAP once you have them mounted.

Get the wireless wire. The camera uses constant airtime. You don't want to have to deal with retransmits and all the extra noise that means.

I would definitely recommend AGAINST client serving wifi from Mikrotik. Particularly if the device is 120 Meters away. At that distance in OPEN AIR... I would go Cambium XV2-2T. I have 2 at an event space that cover 58,000 sq feet with ease. But I was able to make a wifi call using my Pixel 6 from 1...

Problem has been there for years at this point.

Return the unit and get 2 CRS328-24P+4S-RM with a 10 dollar DAC cable between them.

Or get a EdgeSwitch ES48-500. Been around for years and have been solid.

remove that unit from the rack and buy 2 CRS328-24P+4S-RM. Get a $10 DAC cable and uplink them together.

The CRS354 has been broken for years at this point with no sign that Mikrotik intends to do anything about it.

Why wouldn't you use the same scope?
you are not getting broadcast traffic anyways. And proxy arp has been known to stall the whole network if you make enough mistakes.

VPN in on a different subnet and use Firewall and routing rules.

If you have caps-man man forwarding on. You need to add the interfaces to the bridge with the Guest DHCP server.

If you use local forwarding... It's a VLAN thing.

Note: This is still a problem in 7.13, so don't upgrade! So it works until you put it through the Netgear? If you use another managed switch does it work? Seems you may need to look at the Netgear. Bricked a hAP AC2 during update.

Integrator plugged it into a Wattbox from SNAP AV. Left auto reboot on.

Yup Capsman is the way to go for roaming if you have several WIFIWAVE2 devices.

If your not using wifiwave2 I think your wasting your time.

Clients are connecting to 5G when they start the connection near the AP. If they connect at further distances, they don't switch from 2G to 5G when they get close to the AP. Is that normal? Am I missing a setting? These are new APs and I'm trying to figure out how to set up CAPsMAN2. Completely nor...

bpwl Maybe more of a PtMP setup. Like a tower that faces out with a 60GHZ sector. Then cell in a box type of config. Were there is a switch 60GHZ client and access point in a portable box with a pole. The 2 radios could sit on the pole and be extended above the crowd... then spin the 60Ghz to point ...

I have that on AX2 and AX3. AC3 can go to around 700 using wifiwave2 driver. Yup... put 26 other clients on the same radio (not just the wap, the radio), install it in a busy wireless area... then try that again... from more than 10 feet away. I got pretty impressive results (speedtest and the like...

caps-man was awesome in concept. incredible on paper. impressive in the lab. BUT CRUMBELED IN SPECTACULAR FASHION IN INSTAL AFTER INSTAL. Why... because it could only control garbage radios that couldn't handle ACv2, and they locked up in busy environments. Aside from that... its features were AWESO...
