Powering the PowerBoxPro with a Cambium L142A.
Its a 56V 60 Watt POE injector.

PowerBoxPro lit right up.
WAP60G reattached to its PtP WAP60G
XE3-4 Powered on at AT power.

Using the 56V 60 Watt Power Supply should get me 25 Watts out if the ports are 450mA.

I pointed out the same thing about the "marketing".

But who knows if that ever makes it from support to Normis or LEGAL.

I would think with European laws... They (Mikrotik) might need to put an asterisks on that webpage.

Out of curiosity, why the CSS610-8P and not, say, the RB260GSP ? Were you planning to power half of the devices with the RB5009's and the other half with a smaller switch, and now you need a bigger switch that can feed 8 PoE devices? :( The RB260GSP has passive only (low voltage) PoE out, not 802.3...

I have used an iphone and android phone on the main network and reached the Sonos network.

Wireguard... wait... if you are not on WiFi... sonos will not connect at all on phone interfaces.

No reboots.
Customer is happy.

Too Bad we didn't merge threads. I put in my first RB5009UP last week and got my ass handed to me. We set the power lower in the radios and the WAPs are staying down below 10watts. And not rebooting.

When the CSS610-8P is installed... I will set the power to full and see what switch OS reads back to us.

Yea, you can see that wifi interface which has no connected devices became inactive. It's same thing if you disconnect eth cable from port.

Put them both in bypass. That should give you the carrier grade nat IPs. Or pay 20 more per month and get Priority 40. This will give you 40 Gigs of priority data then typical unlimited after. Not everyone has the same experience when it comes to MikroTik WiFi. I have had Cisco, Ubiquiti and Grandstream and recently I returned to MikroTik. The family is happy, and thus so am I. It's a pretty standard configuration. Only significant additional configuration over basic router configuration is setting up of a guest VLAN and some port forwarding. The 5GHz frequency is set to 5500 to get maximum Tx power. Logging is going to Kiwi syslog server free running on my Windows server...

I have 2011s that are still in service... 10 years later. But... They all have low speed WANs.

The 3011 and above are a good choice once you pass a 300M connection.

A hAP AC2 will do just below gigabit on it wired ports even without fast track.

I would definitely recommend AGAINST client serving wifi from Mikrotik. Particularly if the device is 120 Meters away. At that distance in OPEN AIR... I would go Cambium XV2-2T. I have 2 at an event space that cover 58,000 sq feet with ease. But I was able to make a wifi call using my Pixel 6 from 1...

remove that unit from the rack and buy 2 CRS328-24P+4S-RM. Get a $10 DAC cable and uplink them together.

you are not getting broadcast traffic anyways. And proxy arp has been known to stall the whole network if you make enough mistakes.

VPN in on a different subnet and use Firewall and routing rules.

If you have caps-man man forwarding on. You need to add the interfaces to the bridge with the Guest DHCP server.

If you use local forwarding... It's a VLAN thing.

My Audeince is from before the WAVE2 drivers. The instant I added the WAVE2 package I got a unit with no config.

Bricked a hAP AC2 during update.

Integrator plugged it into a Wattbox from SNAP AV. Left auto reboot on.

It was the loss of Power during update reboot, that Killed it.

Found an engineering team that would actually listen... Then Changed wifi providers.

They had a serious issue in their way they passed DNS packets... But they actually hunted it down.

So that was the end of caps-man for me.

Exactly why they need LONG BETA CYCLES. And since you think it's software... They might actually be able to "fix it". Unlike the Wave2 chips stuck with a Wave 1 driver due to a HARDWARE limitation making it impossible to shoehorn the right driver in.

Domotz has been a solid answer for us for years.

Zerotier running on one of the switches has allowed us to remote into OUR NETWORK SPACE INSIDE another network. When the IT guy didn't know how or want to had us a public IP or port or anything.

65 AP's and router is RB5009.

1400 clients peak.
Wow... Hope you have a lot of thick walls between WAPs.

So a WAP carries about 22 clients?

What happens when you gather all the kids in the auditorium or similar?
Do you have more WAPs in those common rooms?

The problem occurs a lot in areas where you have a lot of access points from other networks competing for air time. So in my residential installs... Mikrotik WIRELESS had to be relegated to customers in the middle of nowhere with low client counts and not needing particularly good speed or connectiv...

kaldek, The way that Ruckus used to do it.. they would hold the transmit beacon for the 2.4 slightly longer. Also it would try to note "hey that used 5Ghz before, let me see if it will take 5 if I hold that 2.4 another round." For Cambium... it actually tracks and takes note of the abilite...

My XE3-4 has been pretty solid.

Cheaper than Ruckus... but I still stumble over issues here and there. XV2-21 is pretty close to where I need to be to get clients to stop asking me about Mikrotik wireless

Port knock... Add IP to Whitelist.
Allow VPN connection from whitelist only.
Whitelist last 60 seconds.
If connected... the connection keeps going until you server it as an established connection.

Sadly... Pings still pass when the port is "locked up". This makes it harder to figure out. But the new netwatch can query for a webpage. Maybe that would be enough to let netwatch know it's down. Then you could REBOOT THE WHOLE SWITCH. (That's right... That's what has to be done when port...

Is this problem still existent, even with SwitchOS? We are on the process of buying 02 48-port PoE switches with 10GB uplinks and CRS354-48P-4S+2Q+RM is one of the candidates but this bug is a showstopper. I never had duplicate MACs detail me.
You have never restored a backup to another device, as the author did.
You are pretty close to right.

After the few times I have restored a config like that... I went back in and defaulted the MAC addresses.

You need an SSID with WPA3 enabled... that can take advantage of AX.
Then have another SSID that goes up to WPA2.

I had several devices that would not connect as soon as I turned on WPA3.

2 SSIDs cured it.
