Re: interactive TV (Tet) over local network, picture "slideshow" [SOLVED]

Thank you very much, sindy :) Looks like everything went smoothly and goal has been achieved - TV works as supposed. And local traffics performance is good. As I'm not familiar with this setup, could you please explain me one last thing - how can I know the traffic is really isolated - there is no c...

Re: interactive TV (Tet) over local network, picture "slideshow" [SOLVED]

It dosen't matter much to have tagged all internal traffic, main goal is to isolate traffic, so that TV provider can't see anything what happens locally, and vice versa. :) Of course in most stable way :) I can free one ethernet port and set up unique IP while changing config without problems. I can...

Re: interactive TV (Tet) over local network, picture "slideshow" [SOLVED]

Thanks for answer, I have checked load on both routers, it is near idle while watching TV. For example CPU usage never gets higher than 5%. I suppose this is not an issue.
Perhaps I can try to rebuild setup like you say, only have to understand how to make proper config :D

Re: interactive TV (Tet) over local network, picture "slideshow" [SOLVED]

Sorry, I'm not good with drawings, but here is something: tet.jpg hope this helps. TV top box is supposed to be connected directly to tet box, when it is, everything works smoothly. Connection between MT routers is 1G, tv box never negotiates faster than 100M so I suppose it has 100M interface or is...

interactive TV (Tet) over local network, picture "slideshow" [SOLVED]

Quite a simple setup. Tet router - Alcatel-lucent connected to two ports on RB850Gx2. One connection for iTV, another for internet. ;) Traffic is tagged as vlan6 for TV and vlan7 for local network (NATed to internet) 1G network connection, trunk, to hEX PoE, where traffic is untagged and Motorlla de...

Re: EoIP no ARP one way

Still didn't get it up and running... Now working on l2tp tunnel in LAN bridge, it is indeed in this bridge, but still there is something missing. Not any more. Although it hasn't bubbled into the documentation yet, at least since 6.42 you can specify an fqdn as remote-address in the EoIP configurat...

Re: EoIP no ARP one way

Are the IP addresses from 10.1.0.0/16 attached to the bridge interfaces (correct) or to some member interface on the bridge (wrong)? Yes on both siedes IP is attached to bridge, not to specific interface. Other than that, what do you need arp=proxy-arp for? If you are asking so, perhaps, I don't. I...

EoIP no ARP one way

Hello, quite a simple setup: two MT routers one as server 6.42.3 with fixed IP another as client 6.42.5 with dynamic IP. L2TP with IPSec tunnel works great, can ping both sides. l2tp IPs 10.7.7.1 for server side and 10.7.7.2 for client. On top of that EoIP tunnel (without ipsec) Local subnet 10.1.0....

Re: CAPsMAN wAP ac + groove (priority?)

Thanks for your message. Could you please explain bit more, I can't imagine exactly how can I filter clients by RX level. I suppose groove will be better for any parameter if considering radio, RX will be better just because it has much better antena. About max client number it dosen't sound realist...

CAPsMAN wAP ac + groove (priority?)

Hello, actually I'm looking for ideas for configuration. I have configured CAPsMAN with 4 wAP ac running, both 2 and 5 ghz works quite well, but for extended range I'd like to add groove (I have one, unused) which has much better range, but unfortunately is slower. If I add it to CAPsMAN configurati...

Upgraded from WDS to CAPsMAN v2 few issues

Hello, First of all good work in implementing something like so powerful stuff. :) I have upgraded from WDS to CAPsMAN. I have quite a small environment 2 devices - RB951G-2HnD as CAPsMAN/CAP and Groove A-52HPn as CAP. Both devices are running v6.29. Setup is very simple, currently didn't do any har...

RB951Ui-2HnD system health

Hello, I have tried to monitor router current status using SNMP, but have failed with some data, when I dig deeper, i found, that /system health print dose not show any data. [...@MikroTik] > /system health print [...@MikroTik] > If I open WinBox result are the same, it just shows empty screen. My q...

Re: RB751U-2HnD reboots acidentialy

Good point, thanks, will have to find another adapter and try what will happen.
It would be a bit strange, as I'm using native PS, but of course it is worse to try.

RB751U-2HnD reboots acidentialy

Hello, I have issue with RB751U-2HnD, it restarts when there is some moderate not even high load on wireless interface. To clarify, if there are few clients for example 3 clients, with standard internet activities like web browsing e-mail checking everything works well, but when someone starts to co...

Re: Dreambox stream LAN eth and wifi

I have tried to stream video trough ethernet, everything woks fine, so indeed the problem is at wifi side. Tolstii: Interesting idea, but could you please explain in few words how to do that? (if it's easier for you I can read in russian) I have played with wireless settings under Data Rates, mainly...

Re: Dreambox stream LAN eth and wifi

Unfortunately I have several G clients, but of course I can test if it helps ;)

Just got idea - probably I can try to connect laptop via eth cable too, maybe it is not wifi related at all.

Will try bit later.

Re: Dreambox stream LAN eth and wifi

Have tried wifi same and different channel. Doesn't help, and I can't blame overall wifi performance it works fine. When it actually dose streaming, in WinBox Interface list I can see rx at ethernet and tx at wlan transfer rate at about 1000-1800 kbps. I can't see there are some gaps. Is there some ...

Dreambox stream LAN eth and wifi

Hello, Didn't find any post related to my problem so I'm creating my own topic. Re: Traffic accounting on interfaces

Thanks guys! At this moment I was looking for something similar as written by skot. Only for me will be enough with: ssh <ip> ":put [/interface print as-value stats]" > myfile didn't know trick with ":put ... as-value" But yes I can try to learn a little bit about API, only need to find time for edu...

Traffic accounting on interfaces

Hello, I'm looking for some easy way how to get some traffic not IP based statistics, but traffic on every interface. I can see accounted traffic with command: /interface print stats but results aren't scripting friendly. Of course there is possibility to use linux tools like cut, awk, etc, but mayb...
