10G interface on x86 doesn't show fiber Rx signal levels? and auto negotiate on the fiber interface says 'incomplete'

Using intel chipset 10G interfaces and also a broadcom.10G on x86 server. Is there any DDM SFP modules that will show the Rx signal level of the fiber signal? We've found the link will also say 'auto negotiate: incomplete' but links at 10G and passes traffic. Mikrotik, any feedback here?

Thanks

Fiber interface with 5ghz solution?

How far out before we see a 5ghz solution with an SFP port? We have some sites on FM towers that can't go past 10BT ethernet.

Re: Easiest way to limit SXT to 8Mbps on bridged network?

That command is not possible in at least this SXT on the latest firmware. It is in the winbox interface, but only allowed for the Tx setting. Is it a bug?

Limits using NAT?

I'm masquarading a public IP to a /24 of privates. We're getting a few calls and sites visit proves that a few privates are no longer getting NAT'd, traffic has stopped. Very strange. Should we be see issues? Is there anything I should be looking for in the router? When we assign a public static on ...

Re: 802.11n

.11n is definitely half-duplex unless you incorporate Nstreme2 in some fashion. Which leads to the next question. Under Nstreme2 -> HT, what is the difference between 'single', 'double', and 'both'? Will these .11n cards ever be capable of supporting full duplex capability using just one card under ...

Re: 802.11n

Does each chain (or antenna port) using .11n use a seperate 20Mhz channel or do they all share the same 20Mhz and transmit at the same time and recieve at the same time? I've not found any good documentation to explain that.

Re: Feature Request (N-stream2)

I'm trying to make some business decisions on weather Nstreme-Dual is the right solution for us. Is there in fact on-going work on routerboard/Nstreme-dual performance/GUI and if so how long would we have to wait? I'm looking for something more like Osbridge 5GXt full duplex links.

Thanks

Just use the winbox tool...that stuff won't show up then. I'm quite sure that's for the MIMO cards coming out down the road...

Re: nstream dual - channel recycling?

You should be able to use the same Tx channel for as many Nstream2 links on a tower as you want. And can probably get away with quite a bit of re-use on the Rx. If you really want to max the usage you can alter polarizations, etc.

Feature Request (N-stream2)

After using N-streme2 in many environments, I would really love these features and would improve Mikrotik's sales... -better noise troubleshooting tools (eg. full 5GHz spectrum analyzer more like Motorola/Orthogon backhauls) -better nstream2 performance in noisy conditions -instead of having remote-...

AR5211 support for RB433 / RB433AH?

For some reason we can't get the AR5211 mini-pci cards to work in the RB433AH. However these cards work fine in RB500s and x86 mobos. In the RB411 documentation, it says support for these cards is no longer. Can anyone clarify if that relates to the RB433 also and maybe why?

Thanks

Mikrotik BGP vs. Cisco vs. OPenBGPD etc.

Short verion: Does MT's BGP work right with full routes and with what version? Long version: We currently have a couple Ciscos running full BGP for typical ISP purposes but now have a customer that we need talk BGP to also. We wanted to terminate that on a seperate 'customer facing' router but with...

Re: Expert Q! Does Nstreme2 operate at layer 2,3, or both?

I just saw Butch Evans respond to my same question on the isp list: "At the IP layer, it is true FDX. However, NStreme (and NStreme dual) is based on 802.11 protocol. There is some protocol information that is needed to maintain each individual link that is not happening at full duplex. This is...

Expert Q! Does Nstreme2 operate at layer 2,3, or both?

To confirm what I thought I was sure of before...considering normal 802.11abg has underlying communication mechanisms for packet acknowledgement to remote partners, does Nstreme2 backhaul receive on one channel and send any reply acknowledgements back through the transmit card only? Or is there a sm...

Re: Is anyone running heavy traffic on RC10?

I was not been able to get nstreme2 to be reliable(if working) on rb333, was like rc8-ish. Based on what your saying, sounds like that's still the case... Unless I had it mis-configured? I finally got fed up and ordered a bunch of commell dual-mini-pci boards, they actually load irqs properly in 2.9...
