CHR Hyper-V Loading Error

We are running Hyper-V Server 2019 Core along with a CHR router running 6.48.1. While we have been able to get this machine up and running there seems to be a problem with corrupting the hard drive image that then causes it to fail to boot. If we boot after corruption and start an RDP session throug...

Dstnat with IP address rewrite [SOLVED]

I have a rule similar to the following where 1.2.3.4 is the public IP address that will be used to access the device on the private network located at 192.168.0.2: add action=dst-nat chain=dstnat comment="Init" dst-address=1.2.3.4 dst-port=22,80,161,443 protocol=tcp src-address-list=OnlyFr...

Re: 6.43 change in login process and API libraries?

This does not apparently seem to be a forced change on how the login process works with the API. We have upgraded an in house device to 6.43.4 so that we could begin testing as we use the API service for a lot of in house functionality. If we still send the /login on its own we are receiving the =re...

Does anybody know when we will have US availability of these? Can't seem to find them anywhere.

CRS125-24G-1S Minimal Configuration

Can somebody provide the MINIMAL configuration so that this device just acts like a 24 port switch, but has an IP that can be used to access the device from anywhere. What I would suspect is a /ip address and /ip route would be it. However, the device does not seem to act like a switch as default wi...

R2N 4.0b3 tx-power setting

We were testing some of the R2N radios using the 4.0b3 firmware. This is a VERY close link and when the radios came online they saw each other in the -28dBm. So, we adjusted the tx-power manaully to 0 for all modulations and of course saw this rise to the -40's. Throughput was terrible yet (likely h...

Re: Multilink PPPoE issues

Hate to followup to my own post, but I continued searching and searching forums for similar problem. Found somebody that was having something similar using transparent proxy. I "tweaked" their change and sure enough, now ALL the sites we had problems with are loading. Here are the commands...

Multilink PPPoE issues

I am trying to setup dual DSL links using multilink PPPoE at a location and have it working about 99% of the way. This is to replace an existing T1. The only issue I have is that SOME (and it is limited) web sites will not load, one of the being http://www.microsoft.com. Go back to the T1, loads rig...

Re: Netinstall SLOW

Winbox will not allow you to upgrade the routers to change the way key licenses are handled, it can only be done using the NetInstall software. This is typically what we use otherwise and it is a very easy/fast process. Tested Linksys USB adapter on same laptop and this worked much better. Stangely ...

Netinstall SLOW

We are trying to upgrade some RB532a's with the Netinstall program. I am able to get the bootp working and the installation proceeding. The unit is directly connected to my laptop with Ethernet and serial. I am guessing that it is going to take about 30-45 minutes to upgrade the radio using this pro...

Take a look at:
http://www.mikrotik.com/software.php

From what it looks like the routing protocols are L5 or higher.

532A & Level 5 software ok?

We are looking at purchasing a number of Routerboard 532A units and would like to run the Level 5 software. Two reasons mainly, 3 years of updates and when 2.10 is released routing support. We recently contacted DoubleRadius for a quote and received the following reply when asking to upgrade the uni...

Port forwarding & Hotspot

Ok, here is a simple diagram of the network in question |------->Access Point 1 (192.168.0.2) | DSL--->Mikrotik---->Access Point 2 (192.168.0.3) The Mikrotik box on Ether1 has a real IP address (for example we will say 1.2.3.4) that is accessible anywhere over the Internet. On Ether2 it has an addre...

That is what we are doing, however this seems more like a "hack" than working in the parameters of the box. It works though so we will live with it.

That does not work either. The problem is that once the Mikrotik tries to authenticate against the RADIUS server by MAC address it does not seem to every try authenticating again. The only "hack" we have found so far is removing the MAC address from /ip hostpot host list and then it will a...

Hotspot & MAC authentication

We are trying to setup MAC based only authentication for the Hotspot using a signup server located on a secure web server on our NOC. When a new client first logs in the Mikrotic does send the RADIUS authentication to our server. This of course fails as they are not in the server yet. When they we b...
