Still waiting for stock from Sophos for some of their fiber modules since start of 21.


If you have the power to spin up chip fabs in Asia, there's not much that you can do about the situation except use the 2nd hand market.

what's the capacity of that powerbank and how long can you run that ac3 on it ?
Normal use of the device with some clients, I assume ?
I have a 7500 Mah POE one and it's survived 4 Hour powercuts.
If I remember I've managed to make it close to 6 hours before.

Hi as an aside there are POE powerbanks that can poe either 24V or 48v or DC jack.
I use it at home to keep my hap ac up through power cuts.

Would be handy for our smaller links/sites. We've been using CCR-1016's for this sorta job for a long time now using simple quees / pcq and then feed it back to fiber hand offs upstream.
This would be a niche kinda product but I'd get a lot of use out of it.

No, of course chip supply problems are hitting everyone but Mikrotik seems to hit harder. UBNT kit is difficult but weeks, not month lead times.
Took nearly 9 months for me to procure 4x G4 Domes.
Everything is affected at this stage.

The model names got leaked a long time ago.
Those are videos posted on the actual official Mikrotik YT page so not really a leak.

Given the chip shortage and how beta ROS v7 is at the moment not really filling me with a lot of confidence at this stage for deployment.

I've seen that RSTP song and dance with Cambiums as well when paired with Netonix boxes.
I don't like switching off Spanning Tree for obvious reasons but it was the only way on some runs to get links stable whenever we had power dips or firmware updates etc.

In my field testing, 50-80 on a wap ac is no go.
Not bad AP's, but I wouldn't load more than maybe 10-15 clients max.

I'd recommend Ruckus/Extreme/Aruba/Cambium for those kinda client numbers.

Disappointed by those 2004 numbers if I have to be honest.The removal times makes it a total no go in my edge routing cases pretty much.

There perhaps any chance we can get USB console ports on these cheaper devices in the future ? I'd prefer a "real" console but space on the actual board must be a real isssue. you can use WOOBM for temporary console access, or just any random USB to serial adaptor (using PL2303 or FT232) ...

50+ Mikrotik Devices updated yesterday at one site and no issues (RB2011,SXT AC,951,WAP).
Only thing we saw in the logs , was some of techs configured DHCP Servers/Clients on incorrect interfaces on the bridges and the Mtk devices would tell you in clear English how to fix/address the issue.

Yep same symptoms as mine.Sounds like PSU is overheating.
One of the users on here detailed the PSUs on the CCR's and noted the cooling design was really poor.

I've had 2 CCR1036-8G-2S+ die on me as well with what appears to be bad power supplies in a very very cold MDF room , so it seems there is a design/cooling problem.

Voice VLAN LLDP support is absolutely critical esp on the CRS.
We have totally migrated away from a DHCP based reconfiguration based system to full LLDP.

Lots of newer network devices only support LLDP and not ISDP/CDP anymore making /ip neighbor discovery not all that valuable any more.

All of my ERL3's have suffered from faulty onboard USB storage.If you buy one of these make sure you buy a high quality USB Storage thumbdrive because the ones UBNT ship with them are pure unadulterated garbage.

I'm not too keen on the mikrotiks for road warriors but you can make them work with some massaging. Keep aware of the gotchas on the mtk front like the Mikrotik requiring to be public facing as the Nat-t doesn't seem to work on the server side.

For IPSec VPN I would always go for a 1100AHx2 . CCRs choke at around 50-80 mbits range on IPSec whilst a AHx2 will give you at least 400 mbits or so minimum.

I've had bad memory shipped on both my 1200s and 1100s and caused stuff like intermittent reboots , failure to boot from time to time.

Make sure firmware is latest.Worst case do a netinstall and restore config.

A lot of installs I have to install the antenna directly over doors or in spaces where there is a lot of foot traffic . Getting a 5kg+ metal antenna approved by the safety beancounters at some of the places is a fricking nightmare.QRT and SXT more or less make this a non issue for me.

Another great post nz_monkey . The multiple firmware on the same router would alleviate so much frustration and reduce tech questions/support that get posted here.

You are wrong.Unless poster means POE input required MTK don't have anything catering for his needs.

Hi We are using static routing and transports are pingable. Both end-points show route labels from each other, so I cannot see anything wrong here. I've seen similar things happen between different manufacturers switches using either unsupported or partially supported SFP modules.Are you using the manufacturer recommended SFP's on both ends ?

What mode are you running your OSPF in ? Broadcast , NBMA , P2P ? I've pretty much had to force all my Wireless links to run in OSPF P2P Mode due to links getting stuck in ExStart or 2 Way.
