android wifi ipv6 - disconnect reconnect

I've had my Mikrotik Hap AC for a few years. Over that time I've had three Android phones. All three have experienced intermittent WiFi disconnection and re-connection every few minutes. I've narrowed it down to the following combination 1. Android phones (3 different phones). No issues with other d...

VPN provider recommendations

VPN providers are becoming more popular, and due to my countries recent data retention policies I'm considering one. I plan to have it setup on the Mikrotik to encrypt the whole subnet (a seperate VLAN in my case, really only 2-3 devices) I don't really wan't to use PPTP. Can anyone recommend one? W...

Wireless access point with VLANS

This device is just an access point. I just want to check that I have implemented my VLANS right. I've used Cisco gear in the past but I am new to Mikrotik. The bonded interface is a trunk port to my switch. My switch has a trunk connection to my router which is doing the inter-vlan routing. (Router...

Re: pppoe connection intermittent link downs

what worked for me was setting the MTU and L2 MTU values on the physical interface (in my case ether1) to match the ones on the PPPoE interface. I set them at 1492 but your ISP may differ

Re: PPPoE failed on RB951-2n (constantly connect and disconnect)

click interfaces - then double click your physical WAN interface - ether1-gateway, on the general tab, try setting the MTU and L2 MTU to 1480

Re: PPPoE failed on RB951-2n (constantly connect and disconnect)

check the MTU and L2 MTU on your physical WAN interface are set and match with the ones advised by your ISP (on your logical pppoe interface)

I had a similar issue, and when I set them up the same it all worked.

cannot SSH to HP switch - comware OS

hi I am trying to use the /system ssh client on RouterOS to access a HP switch on my LAN running Comware OS v5. When I ssh I am immediately bounced back to the cmd line on the Mikrotik [admin@Tim-HexLite] > /system ssh 192.168.0.10 user=admin port=22 Welcome back! [admin@Tim-HexLite] > I turned on S...

Re: Frequent bridged ADSL PPPoE disconnects

in case this helps, i had the same problem. i think i fixe it by setting the mtu and max mtu values on my ether1 physical wan interface to match the pppoe virtual interface (my isp advised 1492) and the problem went away

Re: WAN link dropping - interface rx errors

I've changed the MTU and L2 MTU settings on the ether1 interface to match the pppoe virtual interface to match and there don't seem to be anymore errors. so i'm hoping that has fixed the problem???

WAN link dropping - interface rx errors

I have been having problems with my WAN link only dropping. It's running ADSL 2+ using PPPoE on ether1-gateway interface.

The stats show a lot of errors, displayed below.

What do i do to fix this problem?

Thanks

pppoe connection intermittent link downs

Good morning I have a TP-Link TD-8960N ADSL 2+ modem, in bridge mode to a Mikrotik Hex Lite. The hex lite, handles the pppoe connection to my ISP. I cannot seem to get the pppoe connection to stay up for more than a day, it runs for a few hours, then drops out and re-connects. I've checked the modem...

IpSec VPN - One side static public IP

Hi Is it possible to set up a site to site, IPSec VPN between two routerOS devices, if only one side has a static public IP address? The other site has a dynamic address. If so, is there a guide on how to do this? If not, what would be the next best option. I don't want to use PPTP or OpenVPN. Thank...
