Re: RouterOS 5.21 is having problem on speedtest site

I'm having the same problem on the latest long-term version. Updated to the latest stable 6.48.1 and the problem is still there. Disabled all firewall rules, rebooted the thing, nothing woks. If I remove the mikrotik and connect directly, it's all good. Haven't had this something like this happen be...

Re: Cloud Hosted Router

I'm having trouble starting the .vmdk image on ESXi 6.0. Starting it default give me a not enough space error so I tried to increase the size of the disk. I tried both from edit settings in Vsphere Client and from command line with vmkfstools -X 1G /vmfs/volumes/SSD/ISOs/chr-6.34rc19.vmdk. After res...

Re: MB+CPU which you recommend for RouterOS? With power like core i3, 2,5ghz?

I'm running RouterOS in a VM for gigabit routing at home. Running on 1 vcpu under ESXI on a i5-2520m, 80% max cpu load at 1 gbps.

Re: Router hacked from outside

I'm wondering if and what they did on it if they got access. beside setting up a vpn / proxy I'm not sure what else they could do.

Do a /export compact file=filename and upload it somewhere is possible.

Re: Cloud Hosted Router

I'm interested if there will be a "home use" licensing option ? Something with similar restrictions to the regular Mikrotik licenses and no speed limits. I run RouterOS in a vm for gigabit since you still don't have a consumer device that can handle gigabit routing (*serious finger shaking...

Re: RB2011UiAS-2HnD-IN, is Gigabit routing possible?

The problem is that fast-track doesn't work with pppoe connections. I had the same problem and my solution was to build a mini-itx system (i5-2520m 2c4t, 16gb ram), thrown an ESXI on it and some hdds and running RouterOS and a debian for torrents. Now I'm routing gigabit at 45% cpu load on 1 core an...

Re: MUM Europe 2014 - Italy, Venice, February 20-21

Will the RB850Gx2 handle 1gbps routing through pppoe ? The biggest Romanian ISP just released nation wide 1gbps internet and there's a lot of people looking for a 1gbps capable router. Right now the only options are some tp-link and asus models that offer hardware acceleration for 100-300$. I think ...

Re: Basic VLAN setup help

I'm ashamed to admit I don't know what an access port is. Eth2/3/4 should be able to communicate with the devices connected to the HP switch on their respective VLANs. edit : maybe it helps to provide a bigger picture of what i'm trying to achieve : Eth2/3/4 are connected at 1gbps to some servers. eth1 - wan
eth2 - VLAN10

eth6-10 - not used

I need all VLANs to have access to the internet but keep them separated.

Re: PPPOE 1GB - LAN to WAN throughput

I'm not sure what you were expecting. Considering you've used the mikrotik before you got the gigabit connection, it should have been obvious that even at 100 mbps the cpu load goes over 50% while masquerading pppoe. I was in the same situation with a 951g-2hnd and gigabit pppoe and was about to go ...

Re: Gigabit NAT, home-use, router recommendation

Was in the same situation, decided to with a HP Microserver Gen8 that I plan to upgrade later for storage as well (under ESXi). Here are the stats : http://i.imgur.com/2WHL5eUm.jpg . Torrents cap out at ~700 mbps with ~80% cpu load. Btw, a dual core atom handles ~450 mbps max over pppoe so you'd nee...

repost from the 6.8rc1 thread

Can confirm I got another ~200 mbps while torrenting on my 1gbps connection running routeros 6.8rc1 under ESXi on a Celeron G1610T (sole VM, ~70% cpu load, pppoe connection, ~60 firewall rules).

Level 1 trial license

I want to do some tests with the x86 version before buying a license and the wiki says that for the Level 1 license I need to register. I have registered on the website but I can't find anything related to that.

Hardware for 1gbps pppoe internet

I'm one of the few lucky enough to get 1gbps internet at home.

Right now I'm running a 951g-2hnd that can handle 300-400 mbps of torrent traffic.

What will handle the full 1gbps speed ? I'm up to switching to x86 and buying a license if that ends up cheaper than a CCR.

Dual WAN setup, wan1 through hotspot, wan2 ignores hotspot

My client decided to get another internet connection for their internal network and wants to leave the first one for the hotspot users. So it goes something like this WAN1 => 192.168.1.0/24 => hotspot => internet WAN2 => 192.168.2.0/24 => internet (skips the hotspot). I don't want any load balancing...

When can we expect these to start shipping ? Which retailers would get them first ?

PPTP Server with Windows clients

I want to setup a pptp server so my friends can connect and play games in lan. I have 2 WAN connections. One gets routed to 192.168.88.0/25 the other one to 192.168.88.128/25. Both are pppoe connections (rds/rtlc) going through rds-gateway / rtlc-gateway interfaces (port 0 and 1). I enabled the pptp...

I'm routing .0/25 on the dynamic IP and .128/25 on the static IP. this is my mangle 0 ;;; in rds,out rds chain=input action=mark-connection new-connection-mark=rds...
