Re: save export to variable

1) always variables could hold more data than 4KB. Only limitation is how much you can write/read to file. 2) you can assign very very large amounts of memory. More free memory you have higher you can go. That is, if you increase the variable you have to be aware of memory allocation mechanisms. If...

Re: Built in function library

A built-in function that broke up files and variables into 4096 byte chunks would be extremely useful.

Re: Built in function library

A websockets client would be extremely useful. We recently built a compiled C websockets client from scratch just including the TLS library. MikroTik would be welcome to include this as a package in future versions of RouterOS.

Re: Built in function library

Not sure if already suggested, but JSON support would be absolutely amazing!!!!!

See: JParseFunctions for a kinda hacky (but extremely useful) workaround that really needs to be implemented natively!

Re: v6.47.2 [stable] is released!

..we can not tell anything about the issue by looking at a screenshot (if you can call 360x176 pixels a screenshot) showing 100% unclassified load. It would be very helpful if /tool profile provided more detailed information and allowed the results to be saved and queried by the scripting engine.

Use output of /tool profile

I'm try to get the total number of running processes and the CPU utilization for each process. Is there a way to use the output of /tool profile?? Apparently "/tool profile duration=10 file=output.txt" worked at some point but it doesn't work now. =( This also doesn't work: :log info message=[/tool ...

Re: MikroTik's GPL compliance regarding RouterOS

Thanks, probably due to site design migration, some things were not moved. I will tell the responsible people to fix.
Years later, still 404 errors:

Redundant WAN links checking beyond the gateway

Is there a way to setup redundant WAN links so they will check beyond the gateway? With Comcast, when configured with a static IP address, the gateway is the cable modem. Pinging the cable modem does not mean the internet connection is working. It would be much better to ping the next hop. Can this ...

60 GHz with 5 GHz failover using OSPF

My research so far has indicated that the best way to provide 5 GHz failover using 60 GHz primary links is to use OSPF. Does anyone have example configurations of failover links using OSPF?

Re: Feature Request : Wireless Private Passphrase as a Match in Access-List [SOLVED]

This could be possible because AP is the first to check data sent by client if proper passphrase was used. Probably such feature could be implemented to some extent where AP could check against fixed set of passphrases and take one action or another. I would like to be able to assign a VLAN based o...

VLAN based on PSK

I'd like to broadcast a single SSID and put the Wi-Fi client in a VLAN based on the preshare key they use. Anyone know if this is possible and/or how to do this?

Re: SXT 5 ac PtP unstable link speeds

We are also seeing terrible real throughput issues compared to Ubiquiti. With Ubiquiti 802.11N Nanobeams we are getting consistent 70/70 and with SXT AC Lites we are getting 30/30.

Re: Roku Box needs an IP Binding before it will work

I have also found the Roku and Mikrotik DHCP don't play well. The Roku hammers the network with broadcast DHCP requests. I'm using RB750UP and v6.26, DHCP Server, VLAN, and Ubiquiti access points.

Re: DNS Allow Remote Requests

DHCP Server, Networks. Use external DNS servers in your DHCP settings so your DHCP clients don't use your router for DNS lookup.
