Re: Switch with low performance!

I solved my CRS 326 RX Overflow problem switching the uplink port that was on an ethernet port to an SFP port. If this helps, it sounds to me as if the connection on the copper-only port negotiated a half duplex operation mode, as otherwise there is no sane reason why an SFP should perform differen...

We use superchannel.
The country setting now has priority, so your superchannel won't work unless you have country set to no_country_set. The forum is full of discussions about this change...
All our APs are set to "no_country_set" since forever.

Re: v6.44 [stable] is released!

In my network things were running smoothly without complaints from clients, the day after going from 6.42.3 to 6.44 we starded receiving many complaints about slow internet speed. In two sectors we have two clients with signal going from -68 to -72 and these clients were using the Internet without ...

Automatic MTU/MRU for the PPPoE Client

Hi! When I change the PPPoE MTU on the server side to let's say 1492, it only changes the MRU to 1492 on the server side and the MTU keeps set to 1480. In this case, a SXT Lite 5 is the CPE and even though the pppoe client is se to default in the CPE it only changes the MRU. We now have 155 SXTs dep...

Re: v6.44 [stable] is released!

well, the context was in the sense of mixing "mipsbe" (and "mipsle") devices with "arm" equipped processors where several people seems to have problems with. Apart from that you are right, in NV2 only mikrotik gear works. But in 802.11 you can also use any other 802.11 brand device. Another advanta...

"NV2 in this release has been improved for mixed networks." Please, explain the definition of "mixed networks". As far as I know I can only use NV2 with mikrotik gear. And what happend to what Mikrotik stated a few month ago when they've released version 6.42.3 saying that now one bad client don't a...

Re: v6.44 [stable] is released!

I've updated all my routerbords including all the APs, SXT SA and RB921GS from 6.42.3 to 6.44 and had problems with clients with kinda low signal, -68, -70, -72dbm... In the versio 6.42.3 Mikrotik had made improvements on the NV2 Protocol and said then that clients with low signals from that version...

Using the SFP instead of an ethernet port for the uplink, solved my overrun (overflow on RouterOS) problem.

Re: Switch with low performance!

I solved my CRS 326 RX Overflow problem switching the uplink port that was on an ethernet port to an SFP port. It seems the SFP port can handle all the traffic better then one ethernet port receiveing and transmiting data from and to other ethernet ports.

Re: v6.42.7 [current] is released!

Dhcp error still persists as offering lease withour success on CCR1009. After many errors the dhcp stops to answer for a while. In our network we have one RB 3011 that works as a Load Balance and in this routerboard we have one DHCP server on one interface and it stoped working as well after applyi...

Re: AP cant use its maximum tx power to transmit higher data rates, why?

The higher the power output is = the higher the noise level will be and that's why the radio can't transmit more bits without causing lots of transmission errors.

Re: Wireless Data Rates - Optimizing AP

In your scenario, 24Mbps / 5 = Shared bandwidth. in Wireless (802.11, NV2, Nstream, AIRMAX...) the AP is always sharing bandwidth. The actual AP data rate is the amount of available bandwitdh for everyone connected to it, simple as that! Remember that we're talking about air rate, the wi-fi protocol...

Re: Wireless Data Rates - Optimizing AP

If you limit the AP to lets say, MCS 1 which gives you 13Mbps @ 20MHz, this is the air rate you are going to be sharing with eveyone! 13Mbps for x amount of clients you have on the AP. Leave it at auto if you don't know what you're doing or limit it to the MCS rate which gives you the best overall C...
