Re: Backup reliability

That is the point. After a reset-configuration your new router will be completly clean. Then you import all the config from your old one you got with "/export compact". That way the new router will be a "clone" of the old one. Import after reset-conf - script file loaded succ input does not match a...

3.steps

1. /system reset
router is reseting

2. connect via mac with winbox
/import file=name.rsc
failure: ip pool is exist

3.
"/system reset-configuration no-defaults=yes keep-users=yes"

nothing!

Backup reliability

"/export" - gives complete config with MAC addresses and everything "/export compact" - gives only config that is different from default. Its much shorter, doesn't contain MAC addresses, etc. Use "/export compact" and you can easily "clone" RBs. i want clone rb750 to rb751g and clone dont work Fail...

Re: Upgrade HW from RB750 to RB751

OK, in RB750G type "/export compact file=name". Then copy the file "name.rsc" to the other router. In the other router type "/import name.rsc" and see what happens. If nothing works, in RB751 type "/export compact" and paste output here.
import return:

failure: pool with such name exists

Upgrade HW from RB750 to RB751

I want upgrade hw from RB750 without wifi to RB751 with wireless.
Is ok only backup to file on RB750, and restore from this file on other RB751?

If this not ok, what must do?
