Re: ethernet port with tagged AND untagged traffic - SOLVED

You should be able to now move your config away from bridges to just using the switch chip for VLAN tagging. This will speed up any L2 communications on your device. Not sure how to do this, or if it's even possible: I'm using a firewall to regulate traffic between bridges: traffic can pass between...

Re: rb2011 reset button

Hi,

This is exactly what I needed -- the exact location of the reset button. I used a 3/5-inch tiewrap to insert into the rectangular hole and access the reset button.

Thanks,

donjames
Just found that under RoS V6 you can reset from the LCD (last menu). Default password is 1234.

Re: ethernet port with tagged AND untagged traffic

I would suggest you to try an updated ROS version... sometimes they solve issues and do not mention it in the changelog. I understand what you are saying. But V6 changed qos, and I rather keep my current qos setup unless I know the change really fixes my problem. I bit the bullet and upgraded to V6...

Re: vlan bridging

Hi. First add a vlan interface trough ether1 in rb2011 In the ap add the same vlan through interface connected to rb2011 For untagged traffic from ap is not necessary to do anything. Many thanks for your response. I did not get this working in ROS 5, but just upgraded to V6, and now it is working.

Re: Using RouterOS to prioritize (Qos) traffic for a Class C

How Buffering and bufferbloat in ISP supplied equipment affects Qos and latency sensitive protocols ... Thank you for this great explanation! Am I correct in my conclusion that without a reasonable estimate of my wan bandwidth, it's impossible to implement qos? Specifically - I have Comcast (cable)...

Re: ethernet port with tagged AND untagged traffic

To reformulate the problem more concisely: I want a secure and unsecure (guest) wifi on my access point. For this, I connected the wireless access point to bridge-unsecure on port ether1 without any VLAN traffic. This part works. In addition, the access point sends tagged traffic (vlan-id=20). How ...

ethernet port with tagged AND untagged traffic - SOLVED

I am connecting an access point to an RB2011 with RouterOS 5.22 using VLANs to separate traffic from different SSIDs. I've started with /interface bridge port add interface=ether1 bridge=bridge-secure which works fine, but obviously not for VLANs. Then created VLANs and bridged those: /interface vla...

vlan bridging

I want to connect 2 SSIDs on a wireless AP to two different nets on an RB-2011. The AP is connected to interface ether1 on the RB. The AP tags traffic from one of the SSIDs with vlan 20, traffic from the other SSID is untagged. The AP is connected to ethernet port "ether1" on the RB. RB se...

Re: simple queues for traffic counting

Each queue provides different values for monitoring over SNMP. /queue tree print oid or /queue simple print oid provides you with options available for monitoring and traffic counting. Thank you for your answer. I understand that I can use queues for traffic counting. My problem is that I already h...

simple queues for traffic counting

I'd like to count wan traffic for certain IPs on the LAN. Apparently one way to do this is to send this traffic to queues and then use router OS' graphing tool to gather and display statistics. My question is how to set this up when I already use queues for QOS: /queue type add name=pcq-download kin...

Re: Hairpin nat problem - SOLVED

Try changing your out-interface to bridge-dmz in the masquerade rule.
No change.

I've ended up creating a stating dns entry for my domain that resolves to the local server. Seems to work fine, not sure what the disadvantages are.

Hairpin nat problem

I have set up access from the WAN to a webserver on the LAN. Everything is working, except accessing to webserver from the LAN using the external (WAN) address gets me to the router rather than the internal webserver. Access via the lan address (192.168.40.2) works fine. I've set up a dmz on 192.168...

rb2011 reset button

The user guide for the RouterBOARD 2011U talks about a reset button (top of page). Can anyone point me to where it is on the device?
