Hello there. Thank you for your work on v7. I tried it on a VM and It looks like a promising version, with the fresh kernel and all. I have two questions: 1. Are upstream kernel patches to 4.14 going to be incorporated into the v7 kernel? I can see that upstream it is already at v4.14. 148 . 2. Do y...

Dude causes CPU spikes and packet loss on a RB1100AHx4

Hello, I have tried to run a small (31 devices) dude installation on a RB1100AHx4. The data files are stored in a A1-class (100MB/s read, 50MB/s write) Sandisk SD card, formatted as EXT3. I am also facing the same behaviour and would like to know if there is any workaround. I saw that PTMP is recommended over wireless links as being more stable, but at the same time if I cannot manage the radios, then it becomes problematic.

My 2 cents... Re: the pcc dose not work when it works with fasttrack

No, it is not a bug. It is actually mentioned somewhere in the wiki. Fasttrack bypasses some sections of the Firewall engine (part of which is mangle) and this makes it incompatible with some features that look inside packets, like pcc (which is based on source/destination addresses/ports).

Will you please consider fixing the bug where if a wireless interface is set to 2GHz-G/N then all subsequent config changes to this interface done in winbox fail with the message "not supported" and so all config has to be done using the CLI? Changing the interface to any other mode fixes it.

Re: ATTENTION, DISASTER! V.6.17

The only common denominator I found in all of this was the fact that those routers that crashed were ones where I had used bridge mode. The routers that continued working even after the upgrade were those that I had NOT implemented bridges on. So if anyone has experienced similar problems and used ...

Why can't we have an Export option in Winbox, since export is more versatile than backup? I imagine it with a dialog which lets you tick boxes on a hierarchical tree of all routeros config sections, to select which ones you want exported.

3.14 is an LTS, right? Is this something you consider in making a selection of a kernel version?

Re: NV2 with .ac

I really do not see much point in using nv2 in a ptp link, leave alone an indoor one. NV2 is better suited for alleviating the "hidden node effect" and bandwidth share problems which exist mainly in PtMP topologies, especially outdoor ones. In these cases, the benefits arising from the ise of this p...

Yes, you must register an account at the above address. But your board my not support the 30Mhz channels anyway. My advice for you would be to try - it is free anyway!

Good news, Normis. Indeed, it is always better, long term, to market a thoroughly tested product than rush things out the door and then invent "revisions" (keep this in mind also regarding RouterOS releases).

Is this also the case with RB850Gx2? How close is this one to mass availability?

Re: Should I / Can I avoid double-NAT ?

My quess would be that, in addition, you would have to insert a manual routing entry to the Fritzbox, in order to route all traffic to the .88.0 network via the Mikrotik. But I want to ask, have you considered using the Fritzbox only as a bridge? Then it would be transparent and the NAT would be don...

Do you have access to the "account" section of the Mikrotik site? If not, register an account and then, after logging in, write to support and request to add this feature on your account. They will probably send you a declaration to sign and return to them (by mail is ok) and then will unlock the "e...

Unfortunately, MTK product line is still not as carefully designed as other vendors'. The lack of affordable, enterprise-grade Gbit switches with POE out on all ports and wirespeed switching capabilities ON ALL PORTS is one example. For your needs, I would suggest to take a look at this: http://www....

Feature Request: Add HFSC as a QoS mechanism

Hello,

It would be very nice if the next RouterOS could support HFSC as a QoS mechanism. The reason for this is that, unlike HTB which is bandwidth-based, HFSC also takes latency parameters into account.

I would not compare routeros with any home router but rather to more advanced devices, such as, say, Cisco. Their primary purpose are to be reliable, capable and versatile, not easy for every user. Do you know how many commands are needed in IOS to do what you said above? The addition of Quickset in...
