RB260GSP ready for prime time?

I run a small WISP - huge fan of Mikrotik routers. These work fantastically. I decided to try out the RB260GSP switches and do some testing prior to deploying in the field. The SFP modules would stop working (bug in 1.11) - this was fixed in 1.12. Seems like a MAJOR bug, but somehow made it into a p...

Re: Outgoing Public IP designation

Ok - another similar problem I'm having as above. I have an IPsec tunnel that is attempting to connect going out. It's also not using the IP address I want. I tried doing something similar as this but when I Torch the remote router, it shows that it's using the wrong outbound IP. What specifically d...

Outgoing Public IP designation

I have a NAT/masquerade config with several Public IPs assigned to one eth10 port/RB2011. When a private side client (static IP) makes an outgoing connection (SMTP for example), how to I force that connection to "go out" on a specific Public IP? MT is choosing for me, and it's not the one I want. He...

Re: Can't ping routers' gateway address

Ah ha. You just helped me solve this. Thanks very much! Here’s the rest of the story: The :2C MAC is the radio (Ubiquiti Rocket M5) on the receiving radio (connected to Router B), and is responsible for all traffic to Router B. I’m using a Ubiquiti Radio and it has what is called a “WDS Transparency...

Re: Can't ping routers' gateway address

This where my skills aren't as good. On Router (A), I went ip->arp and printed the ARP table. I deleted (from the list here) entries that are not in the 10.x subnet. I don't see any 10.21.x.x or 10.22.x.x in the ARP table. I do see 10.20.1.20 in there, and those pings would pass through that device,...

Re: Can't ping routers' gateway address

10.20.1.20 is a wirless radio (UBNT Rocket) that is physically connected to ether2 on Router (B). It is pingable from both Routers. It's responsible for one end of the link between the routers. On the Router (A) side, there is another corresponding radio device at 10.20.1.13 connected to ether6.

Re: Can't ping routers' gateway address

Here's the traceroute. It never finishes... [admin@RouterA] /tool> traceroute 10.21.1.1 # ADDRESS RT1 RT2 RT3 STATUS 1 10.20.1.20 2ms 1ms 1ms 2 10.20.1.1 2ms 1ms 1ms 3 10.20.1.20 3ms 3ms 5ms 4 10.20.1.1 2ms 3ms 3ms 5 10.20.1.20 0ms 4ms 0ms 6 10.20.1.1 4ms 5ms 3ms 7 10.20.1.20 5ms 0ms 6ms 8 10.20.1.1...

Re: Can't ping routers' gateway address

So to be accurate to this routing table, I'm trying to ping (from Router A) any of these: 10.20.1.1 or 10.21.1.1 or 10.22.1.1 or 10.30.1.1 I replaced the first three digits of the public IP with 1.1.1: Router A: # DST-ADDRESS PREF-SRC GATEWAY DISTANCE 0 A S 0.0.0.0/0 ether6-pub 2 1 A S 10.2.1.0/24 1...

Can't ping routers' gateway address

I have a simple router config problem that is giving me grief, can’t seem to solve it. Running 6.0rc6 on all routers (maybe THAT’s the problem!) I have two Routers: A and B. (A) uplinks to the internet (eg: eth1, 1.1.1.2/31, gw: 1.1.1.1), and has a private net (10.20.1.1/24) on eth2. Eth2 is links t...
