Re: fq_codel in 7.0?

Have you got fq_codel working yet in 7.0? Hey -- you wrote one of the RFCs here! :P Awesome! +1 for fq_codel. This is one of the ~only things significantly holding back our RouterOS userbase. We have to significantly throttle bandwidth to preserve some highly interactive apps at peak throughput. fq...

Feature request: Force sending of DHCP options to clients

DHCP allows the server to forcibly send options to clients, even when they aren't requested. This is supported in ~all other DHCP servers, including ISC ("dhcp-parameter-request-list") and dnsmasq ("--dhcp-option-force"). There are a lot of use cases, including: - Setting pxeboot...

Re: Got fq_codel yet?

Looks like there was a discussion this summer about CoDel here: http://forum.mikrotik.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=63594

We've been testing this on some saturated servers and other *nix routers with great results. Hoping to see it in v7.

Re: Got fq_codel yet?

fq_codel support would be amazing and could really improve our experience.

(Unfortunately, this seems almost entirely based on the kernel version.)

Re: What's new in 6.8rc1

Is it now possible to disable DHCP options in the DHCP Client?

I can't remove hostname or clientid -- they keep coming back!

Re: DHCP failure, constantly searching

I think this might have to do with the Mikrotik client setting the two DHCP options: - Option 12 (host name) OR - Option 61 (client identifier) I'd like to disable those, but I can't figure out how. It seems like they're permanently set, and I can't remove them. Has anyone been able to remove/disabl...

DHCP failure, constantly searching

I have an RB2011 running 6.7 with firmware 3.10. The WAN port is connected to a cable modem (SMCD3G / SMCD3GN2-BIZ) provided by a cable company (Charter) in bridge mode. If the cable modem is restarted, it cycles its port ~4 times (normal behavior): Jan 1 18:14:49 MikroTik ether1-gateway link down J...

Re: Changelog RouterOS 6.6

v6.6 has a much improved wireless driver and program, which also includes nv2 improvements.
I'd also like to know if this made it into 6.6.

Does this improve 802.11bgn too (not just nv2)? (I've always had high jitter on the RB2011UAS-2HnD-IN).

Thought I'd open a thread on this recent post to Full Disclosure: ================== Hello lists, here you find the analysis of a vulnerability I recently discovered. Re: v6rc14 released

With about 1'000 connections or more bridge-local will disappear all of the sudden. Hey Mark -- I'm very interested in this problem. Using an RB2011L-RM on 6.0rc14, I experience very intermittent (~weekly) loss of the router (completely unresponsive to ping, won't route traffic, etc.). I'm wonderin...

RouterOS response to DHCP NAK?

I'm having an issue with a cable provider, where RouterOS v6.0rc12 periodically (weekly) loses its IP: e.g. apr/09/2013 14:39:43 dhcp, critical, error dhcp-client on ether1-gateway lost IP address 68.XXX.XXX.XXX - received NAK from dhcp server 192.168.100.1 apr/09/2013 14:40:06 dhcp, critical, error dhc...

DHCP to DNS hostname?

I'm very new to MikroTik (first install today): Is there and easy way to have DNS entries set from DHCP? That is, if I set a hostname in a DHCP range of "corp.com" and a client ends up with a hostname of "pc-1" -- I should be able to query the router's DNS for "pc-1.corp.com...

Re: Licensing and first activation?

I have an Rb951-2n (with L4 license) that states it is upgradable to 7.x. I would guess that it also would be upgradable to 7.x (due to the timeframe the hardware was released) but someone else with a RB2011L-RM should be able to verify for you. Ah awesome -- thanks! Maybe I'll go ahead and buy a R...

Licensing and first activation?

I'm considering switching from some Cisco small business equipment to MikroTik. It looks like Version 6.0 is approaching production ready (at least within six months). If I buy a RB2011L-RM with a Level4 license: - Does it can I start off with my base version being 6.0? - Does that depend on what's ...
