Bums, so on the CRS I can't see exactly what is going through the slave ports just the whole switch!

Hey chaps, I've got several Mikrotik RBs spread over a few networks, when I torch a port I expect to see all traffic on that port? Correct?

Why is it on my CRSes when I torch a port I see nothing unless I torch a master port?

Am I missing something fundamental?

Locally via fibre.

Currently next to each other on a long patch lead for testing.

I have also tried disconnecting the fibre and linking them using Eth23 with Vlan4 attached and they behave the same, I can configure them both by mac address but only the local one via IP

Ou good shout!

Have just tried that and they are responding to pings using tools>ping so they are definitely talking to eachother but the VLANS are not working

thanks but still no joy I can see traffic on the dst-nat rule as i try to connect but thats it 3389 is definitely open as I have another rdp rule from another wan IP pointing in to another network. That sounds perfect, both have Eth 1 - 802Q Eth 2 - Tagged Vlan 2 and Eth 10 - Tagged Vlan4 so thats no problem at all!

AH I hadn't considered that as in the past its just worked but no nothing on Vlan31, I wonder if it just takes a while for the cisco to pick it up.

For testing I have a machine setup on a cisco with a 802Q configured port when I tag this as Vlan29-30 I get the DHCP correctly and all is happy however when I choose VLAN31 I get nothing!

yes all gateways are responding (192.168.29.1, 192.168.30.1, 192.168.31.1 and 192.168.28.1)

sadly still no joy, maybe its because the routerboard is a bridge and my configuration is a bit odd

Network to monitor ===> Linksys NAT Router ===> Mikrotik bridge===> Internet
