Re: v7.1.2 is released!

Newbie Q. Is RouterOS7 backwards compatible with RouterOS6? I'm hesitating to upgrade from 6.49.3. My usecase is very very basic, running one link in bridge mode to extend private LAN between buildings. My Routerboard hw is old, came with formware 2.36 way back n the day but almost every upgrade alo...

RE: !) package - fixed wireless package status after upgrade to 6.37 (extra reboot after upgrade is necessary);

IF two reboots are required does this mean we cannot upgrade a router remotely if our only access is via wlan?
exactly my question. sorry for the duplication (via my last post).

RE: !) package - fixed wireless package status after upgrade to 6.37 (extra reboot after upgrade is necessary); Are the two reboots necessary ? Or is the second reboot only required/needed if there is a 2'nd wireless package that shows up with a different version ? North Idaho Tom Jones upgrade, if...

Re: v6.37 [current] is released!

I'm a relative newbie, running wireless-cm2 6.36.3 nv2 on both sides of a link. I only have wired access to the uplink side. Use winbox on mac to manage (compiled 3.4 version of winbox). What should be my upgrade path? Upgrade downlink or uplink first? Change wireless package and protocol prior to u...

Re: v6.33.5 [current] is released!

I get this error trying to upgrade:

ERROR: missing wireless-6.33.5-mipsbe.npk

Works on one side of my link, not on the 'receiving end' of the link (same hardware). Have rebooted multiple times, and downgraded from 6.33.3 to 6.32.5 error persists.

Tips?

Thanks,
peter

Tree foliage seriously degrading link... duh... what' best?

I've got a PTP link of about only 300m that worked super in the winter time but almost died as a few trees along the way grew their foliage in april/may. come late Sept I guess things will work again (I do get line of sight when leaves fall) but ...
