Re: Problem Metal 2SHPn

*Bump*

Same Problem here. Tons of clients getting regulary "disco's" from metal. All RB33 working fine in same area with same Antenna.

Should we all contact Mikrotik support or is there any help on the forum for this?

cheers,

Re: Metal 2 shpn Problem in WIFI

Hello, are there any updates on this? We have exactly the same problem with an Metal shpn access point. Clients get disconnected while "extensive data loss" is logged on the metal. I tried lowering the tx-power from 16 to 10 and then up to 13, which resultet in somewhat better dbi values f...

Re: Roaming between hotspots via central dhcp and proxy arp?

Proxy-ARP only helps once an ARP request is made so the central router would need to decide which interface to ARP on before it can get any replies - proxy or otherwise. You mean i would have to provoke icmp requests for this concept to work? Ok, then i rather stay with either - dial-in/wlan router...

Re: Roaming between hotspots via central dhcp and proxy arp?

No that wont work
dang! Any word on why it wont work? Wheres the thinking error?
Just use EoIP/vpls tunnels and bridge it all back to the main controller.
Thats another aproach but then id rather bridge them directly via ethernet.

thx,

Re: Very basic nat question

Hi Cupis, Does anyone know how the "masquerade" action selects the src-ip for masquerading? I coudlnt find anything about this in the documentation. masquerade used the outbound interface to select the outbound IP address -so it if picked a bridge maybe this the interface your traffic is l...

Roaming between hotspots via central dhcp and proxy arp?

Hi, basicly i have a wired star network setup with each wireless AP+hotspot connected to one central rb2011 connecting all to the internet. Currently each hotspot has its own dhcp server with different address pool. As i had problems with devices keeping their ip address while roaming between APs (a...

Re: Very basic nat question

Hi Feklar,
What interface is that IP on? I'm guessing you have a PPP client running, and the out interface is technically that routed interface, not the physical one it resides on.
the public ip is on an ethernet interface with a /30 transfer net to the isp.

Re: Very basic nat question

Hi, Instead of using src-nat, using masquerade might be more appropriate to your setup. Something like (not tested): add action=masquerade chain=srcnat src-address=192.168.1.0/24 out-interface=ISP_UP with the "masquerade" action i had the problem that it did take the private ip assigned to...

Very basic nat question

Hello, i dont understand why the following firewall nat rule doesnt work: The ethernet interface to my upstream connection is named "ISP_UP". The external ip address on the outgoing interface is. lets say, 42.23.1.15/30, my internal, RFC1918 net is 192.168.1.0/24 So, for configuring outgoi...

Supout.rif reader only shows resources

Hello,

ive tried to use the supout reader but it only shows the "resource" information. Everything else is blank.

Any hints why this could be? Empty supout file? No registered licenses?

And how do i add licenses to my account who had been bought via an distributor?

cheers,

Arnd

Re: /ip settings doesn not exist?

Many IP settings are just under /IP. If you are new to RouterOS try looking at Winbox or Webfig - faster overview than the command line. Thx for the hint but i am not really into managing routers/switches/servers with GUI tools. I like it Cisco, Juniper and Unix Style. Command-Line rules, at least ...

The "/ip settings" section seems only to be available from router-os version 6 upwards. Unluckily the router-os upgrade from 5.24 to 6.0rc11 did totally kill my wireless connectivity (wtf ???) otherwise ive would had answered my question a lot earlier myself. Thx Mikrotik...... How can a d...

Hi, in the wiki there is a section called "/ip settings" http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Manual:IP/Settings but there is no configuration section like this on my "rb2011"? Wrong router-os version? Did the section "move somewhere else"? I cant find any config section where...

Re: L2 bridge with Ubiquiti, best practice?

I am also looking for examples on how to set up an L2 bridged infrastructure with routerOS.

Basicly i want to bridge all the WLAN devices via Ethernet (i.e. RB433AH and "Metals") to my Mikrotik RB2011UAS-2HnD and then configure the AP, hotspot, dhcp-server etc. there.

Anybody?
