script to remove old dhcp lease reservations based on last seen [SOLVED]

Hello everyone, We currently use Mikrotik dhcp to hand out and automatically static leases on some of our management devices throughout the network. We do this by basically creating a trigger on lease to make it static and add some notes. This setup works great until devices are no longer needed and...

Re: No login Page hotspot

I tried using that login refresh with username created. My browser pops up for the hot spot but constantly refreshes the page in a loop. Am i missing something that needs to be in the login.html besides what is listed above? <html><head> <meta http-equiv="refresh" content="0; url=logi...

Bug Possibly? RouterOS v6.32.2

Didn't see a bug section on the forums so i'm posting it here. If this is the wrong spot let me know and i'll move it. We have a customer with 2 sites connected over an ipsec tunnel. The tunnel is setup following typical ipsec setup (http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Routing_through_remote_network_over_...

Re: Parent/Child queue not working.

I thought of doing that but each individual port goes to the same data vlan, if i mark based on vlan it would mark them all into one queue. Would it work to mark the connections based on port of origin?

Parent/Child queue not working.

Hello, I have a mikrotik setup in a courthouse providing internet to each office inside and they want to have a small amount of bandwidth guaranteed and share the rest of the bandwidth amidst the other offices. multiple switch chip board acting as 1 switch with vlans.

Greetings all, What I am attempting to do is setup a rb2011L-IN as one large switch that will support vlan ports on all the ports with a single uplink port. The uplink port is a trunk with tagged vlans to the other switch and the other ports are untagged ports with a single independant default vlan ...

Mikrotik Virtualbox OSPF Area issue

Hello all, I'm currently setting up a gns3 project to practice on mikrotik and cisco routing protocols. The devices installed fairly easily but i ran into one problem. On the mikrotik, the default ospf area that is normally there, backbone, was missing. I tried to manually add it and got the error: ...

Re: Simple way to suspend and isolate pppoe clients

Thanks for the reply Fekler! I'm not sure if i am setting up the radius server correctly but it doesn't seem like my ppp connection is reauthenticating using the acct-interim-interval. I set it in radreply "Acct-Interim-Interval := 60" and my test box authenticated normally. I changed the ...

Simple way to suspend and isolate pppoe clients

I'm currently testing a pppoe setup using mikrotik as the concentrator with mysql radius for AAA. Details of the setup are here: http://forum.mikrotik.com/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=90302 . The Radius server is handing out a simple package with a single /32 ip address and a speed package using mikroti...

simple setup check

Hello all, I have recently changed out a unmanaged switch for a mikrotik rb2011 in order to provide a bit more manageability. The office building pays individually for bandwidth but they also wanted to "share" bandwidth and still have minimum bandwidth for their individual offices. I set u...

Re: PPPOE Setup

a pppoe client? You need to set it up under the PPP section on the interface tab, click the + sign and under the drop down select PPPoE client. I havent done it enough to know it right off hand but i know the interface must be the one you have configured as your wan port, dialout must have your logi...

thanks for the reply. i have the pppoe connection connecting fine now. Turns out i had an operator wrong on one of my configurations. It was defaulting to the wrong authentication mode i believe. Working now. All i need to do is find an easy way to turn off users in the database.

Re: Problems with mikrotik pppoe/freeradius/sql authenticati

i was hoping this would be a more common setup, using mikrotik with a freeradius/sql backend doesnt seem that odd. Anyone ever get this setup to work?

Problems with mikrotik pppoe/freeradius/sql authentication

Greetings all! I'm trying to setup new authentication for end users on our wisp using mikrotiks. Following various walkthroughs I have the mpls/vpls network setup in my lab. Currently I am just masquerading the final route out but eventually the pppoe users will receive routable public ip addresses ...

Re: question about updating firmware

Thanks for the reply!

I think my license key is probably a free one or if it has a time limit its gone by now. I was seriously considering swapping it out for one of these routerboards i have. The down side is the config will not pass from 2.x to 5.x there is some syntax errors.

question about updating firmware

quick question,

i'm running a hotspot (version 2.8.13) on a pc box and was hoping to upgrade it to something a bit more current. Can i upgrade directly to 5.24 or do i need to do something older first. I really do not want to brick the box because it is deployed.
