VLAN - Hotspot with Unifi

Hello folks! I have an issue regarding my VLAN setup. I left may RB2011 pretty much in the standard config, added a VLAN id=20 to the same bridge1 with member ports 2-5. The I made two DHCP setups, one on the bridge and one on the vlan. Now I have an interface with an untagged management network and...

Multi-Router network and invalid pakets

Hi all! Just wondering whats the best practice in setting up a multi router network correctly. Looking at following diagram: http://www.fotos-hochladen.net/uploads/2router9ixnf4euzv.jpg These two RB951 routers are in standard configuration with eth1 as gateway to WAN and port2-5 on bridge1. Except r...

Dual WAN Load Balancing Problems

Hello all! I followed this http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Load_Balancing_over_Multiple_Gateways scenario but I came across some nasty problems! Instead of separating one LAN subnet into two groups I have two bridges on several LAN interfaces (bridge1 192.168.5.0/24 and bridge2 192.168.10.0/24). I wan...

Re: how to block ip ranges preventing access to another subn

I mean that the rule doesn't work when i specify an ip range as source-address.

Anyway, I managed to set up a new address on the public bridge an moved all accessable devices to the new subnet.
So I can prevent guest access to the subnet by the firewall rule.

Thanks

how to block ip ranges preventing access to another subnet?

Hello folks! Basically I have two nets on two bridges on my CCR: private net 192.168.1.0/24 and a guest net 10.0.0.0/21. On my guest net I have installed couple of access points which are addressed from 10.0.0.10-10.0.0.50. The DHCP on this net serves the guests with ip addresses from 10.0.1.0-10.0....

Re: WDS Mesh Network on Camping Ground

Hey, with this setup I ran into many problems. I have more than 15 APs on the ground, so frequency interference was a big issue. Also the WDS between the APs cut the bandwidth into pieces. Another problem was that if you are running a ROS version below 5.18? that WDS links between AP-bridge configur...

Re: v5.18 released

I hope this verison solve the wds problem, i couldnt get WDS (AP BRIDGE on all Routerboards) to work with v5.5. the links were stables, good signal and throughput, pings were about 50ms between all the APs but when clients started connecting the links were still stables but no ping response between...

WDS/Mesh or AP/Station?

Hello guys! First of all, this is my wireless scheme: http://i34.tinypic.com/35lck2e.jpg The APs are Mikrotik Groove A-2Hn with Routeros level 4 (1 WLAN Interface and 1 Omni-Antenna). Every AP run the same SSID and Band with no encryption. The APs should be layer2 switched so I can reach/ping every ...

WDS Mesh Network on Camping Ground

Hi folks! I have some questions regarding an outdoor wireless network I'm planing: 1) Which RouterOS level should I use / you prefer? From the central building (gateway to ISP) I use 3 Ubiquiti Nano Bridges to connect the main sites of the camping ground. On one site an AP is connected to the Nano B...
