Re: connecting RB333 directly to battery

I think you are missing my point here. You see, the battery is hooked to the load at all time. My question is, since a complete circuit exist between the + and - terminal of the battery (through the load, of course), how do you stop the battery from moving electron to the load when AC main is up ?

Re: connecting RB333 directly to battery

Is the bulb now not consuming more energy then the unit (rb) you want to keep alive? If we consider a rb333 board with 3 radios consuming roughly 18W max the overall performance for a given battery pack is shortened by more the 55-70%! To make up the capacity you need more then double the battery, ...

Re: connecting RB333 directly to battery

the adaptor will define the power when the mains is on, the batteries will nicely remove brownouts as they are there all the time. if the power adaptor was not able to deal with the peak load of your routers then this isn't a problem as the batteries would fill in the gaps. it is pretty much the si...

Re: connecting RB333 directly to battery

Nice guide Kijomabb. One question about your setup though... when the AC main is up, is the load is going to draw power from both the adaptor and the battery?

Re: RouterBoard 333 - High CPU load

Yep, that's it. Problem gone, set adaptive-noise-immunity to 'No' and cpu load at 0% most of the time, even at B/G mode. Wasn't aware of this new setting. Thanks Uldis, you are da man. One more question, is adaptive-noise-immunity suppose to play well with R52H card ?

Re: RouterBoard 333 - High CPU load

In my case, I discovered that it is also one of the R52H that's causing the high CPU load. Whenever that offending R52H is in B/G or G-only mode, CPU load problem will appear. I have never tested it with 5ghz, but I know switching to B-only mode or using 5mhz channel width will solve the problem. I ...

Re: RouterBoard 333 - High CPU load

Hi Iam also experiencing strange CPU load when there isnt any traffic going through the RB333. The CPU load is 0% to 5% for 3 minutes, and then it will goes up to 20%-70% for the next 60 seconds, then down again to 0%-5%. Iam monitoring the cpu load via sshl. The MRTG CPU load graph shows max 30% an...

Re: Winstrom DCMA-82 issue?

Speaking of DCMA-82, the spec sheet says the unused antenna port should be terminated with a 10 ohm resistor. Any picture or guide on how to do that ?

Agreed, shifting the blame to the resellers are just plain unreasonable. Maybe MT can learn from dairy product manufacturer and put expiry date on its products.

Re: RB433

I think it is good for the users that MT came up with a new product with similar performance for half the price. The only concern I have for my RB333's is that they will no longer be supported in future version of RoS. And even if it is, my guess is that bug-fixing for the 333's will be of low prior...

Re: Routerboard RB1000 and RB604 announced

A lot of time has passed since that was true. We are using cache on RB1000 with CF drives, it works great. Modern CF drives don't have this problem that you are worried about. I can tell you that my recent experience in using even brand name CF card as cache storage has not been pretty. Are you imp...

Well, what's the odd that 4 radio cards would go deaf at the same time. Seeing that he had already tried changing the coax, my prime suspects would be the antennas. What kind of antennas are u using ?

Super channel available frequencies

I started fooling around with super-channel recently. What I dont I understand is how come for cards such as NMP-8602 and CM-9 there are frequency available that are outside of the manufacturers' spec ? Case in point , the available frequency from NMP-8602 spec sheets are : 802.11a 5.15~5.35GHz, 5.4...

Hi Gerard,

Thanks for replying. Do you set the tx power to default or manual ? I guess Iam trying to find out if there is any a bug in the manual tx power setting like the one we have in xr2.

Anyone else ?

Hi networking gurus, I'd like to verify something regarding connection limit netmask. Also make sure you have a low resistance and impedance ground conductor to conduct the lightning down...

So let's say the NStreme interface is, showing TX/RX 500/500 pps, the Tx WLAN will be 1000 pps and Rx WLAN will also show 1000pps, or approximately doub...
