Re: GPeR question

On the specs page for power it seems very odd and I suspect it's wrong!
https://mikrotik.com/product/gper
Max out per port output (input < 30 V) 0.7 A
Max out per port output (input > 30 V) 2 A

So at 48V it allows 2A to pass through, yet at 24V it only allows 700mA through??!!

Regards,
Bevan

Re: Using "find" to match partial comment

Hi, how would this work if you wanted a MAC address from say a DHCP lease? That way it'd be possible to run WOL to a classroom/office area based on computer name. :foreach i in [/ip dhcp-server lease mac find] do={ :if ("." . [:find [/ip dhcp-server lease get $i active-host-name] "Student-Class2"] ....

Re: CHR cloud hosted router xentools and vmware tools

Definitely. Much easier to run a scheduled shutdown than have it culled when an urgent shutdown is required.
That and if a maintenance reboot / ESXi update is applied a stable shutdown of all guests on a server is much easier than having to SSH/Winbox in as an extra step just to shut down the CHR..

Feature Request: Network Maps rotation

Network Maps: It would be handy to have a user-option that can rotate through the Network Maps on say a 10 second/predetermined cycle showing all the elements laid out. For a visual output in a SysAdmin's office it could then bring to attention any devices down, especially where a Flash or Popup ma...

Re: HowTo: Voltage monitoring on The Dude for v6+

This part is more experimental as it depends on how you want to graph the data. Under Probes you can do this in two ways (both if you want). The more useful one to have graphing of Voltage is to create a Probe linked to a function. Create a new Probe called Voltage Type: Function Agent: default (in ...

HowTo: Voltage monitoring on The Dude for v6+

After having a look through several old threads it was about time that a new thread with info on later versions of The Dude was released. Most data is sort of right but it depends on what you are trying to achieve. Below I will break each section up into separate posts since I won't have that much t...

Feature Request: Route Destination Address lists

Hi. Although other protocols exist for more expansive routing, in some cases it's easier to create a group of target addresses and assign a route to the list rather than create a lot of single route rules. Although the backend won't work like this, if it was possible to have it transparent on the GU...

Re: Wireless bonding technique.

Would there be a way to do it simpler with say a RB951G at each end with 2x Ubiquiti AirMax's acting as the bridging A.P's/clients?
Our current setup is Active-Backup but balance-rr or -alb would be better.

Re: Torch Reverse DNS

Same query - would it be possible to eventually have a reverse DNS lookup added to Torch so that when doing a Src or Dst address lookup with Torch it would show the FQDN (URL) instead of the I.P address. I'd find this very handy to track down what the heavily used source domains are for internet use...
