Well, I did ask Mikrotik to make a DC version of the CRS-328P, they say there is no market for this

- It makes it compatible with small racks
- It is cheaper, since it does not need to contain a PSU

Abusing CRS112-8P-4S-IN POE Limitations

Hi, This is more a question for the mikrotik engineers, the CRS112-8P-4S-IN has a limitation of 1A @ 24VDC and 0.45A @ 48VDC, I think this is more a software limitation than a hardware limitation, so the question : is can it do 1A on 48VDC ? and if it is a software limitation, can you then make a hi...

Re: CCR 1009-7G-1C-1S+ is safe powering on PoE

sometimes It's not safe to use POE on a CCR1009, and newer gigabit devices. If you have a long cable and a low starting voltage (running on batteries or 12V) then you will blow the POE port due to the higher amps it will use on low voltages. even the new devices have problems like the HAP AC, if you...

For FTTH the equipment is not so expensive , i did buy my splicer fot 1700 euro. ex tax (Easy splicer)

if you want to play with fiber you can also buy some cheap chinese fiber cutter and use Quick connectors.

for multimode this works great, for single mode i only recommend this for a quick fix.

Don't use POE for the CRS1009!

If the voltage is lower than 24V then the CCR will use to much current and POE port will fry.

CCR1009 + Poe24V = smoke ?

You can power the CCR1009-8G-1S with POE , there is only one problem if you use 24V or less and / or a long cable .

Since the CCR1009-8G-1S uses up to 34W , the current is to high at 24v or less.
In this situation the ethernet transformers wil give smoke.

Normaly not.

connect then both to an omnitik .... then you also have a backup device ...
or use a multiport poe injector

jou can also use 1 POE injector with cable (male - female )+ 1 poe injector with 2 female plugs.
you need to have 2 DC plugs, and jou can connect them to the same powersupply.
