Re: Using RouterOS to QoS your network - 2020 Edition

MPLS packets are invisible to the ip firewall rules (unless you set use-ip-firewall=yes in /interface bridge settings , which affects a lot of things so don't do that unless you absolutely have to). So this topic suggests two approaches - to assign some packet-mark to all IP traffic, and let the qu...

Re: Using RouterOS to QoS your network - 2020 Edition

Backgound: I have built a MPLS network over full mesh EOIP tunnels on all edge routers. I also configured VPLS tunnels in the MPLS network. all network function are worked as expected. Problem: There are both MPLS and non-MPLS traffics running over the EOIP tunnels, sometimes the non-MPLS traffic a...

Re: Symmetric Route due to primary VRRP on different router

Is Mikrotik planning to implement "source mac-address routing", which implemented in many large industrial brand firewall, for sorting out the asymmetric route problem?

Re: v6.45.8 [long-term] is released!

I just found a serious problem on both HAP AC² and 750R3. After I updated the device from V6.44.6 to V6.45.8, I created backup from the WebFig by "Files -> Backup" without encryption , after that, I made some changes on the configuration. When I restore the routers with the backup file ge...

Re: Way to solve mark-routing issue with custom route.

Furthermore, I need to carefully design the routing-filter to redistribute the routes from main route table to other routing table, and at the same time prohibits the routes to be broadcast by OSPF to other neighbour in the network. If you don't define any networks for the "dummy" ospf pr...

Re: Way to solve mark-routing issue with custom route.

You should be able to create more OSPF instances, bind them to the ISP1 / ISP2 routing tables, and then redistribute into them from the primary OSPF process. Thanks for your suggestion. :D I am evaluating the efficiency by creating two additional OSPF processes for "duplicating" the main ...

Way to solve mark-routing issue with custom route.

Under dual WAN (say ISP1, ISP2) situation, I followed the PCC approach to make use of "mark-routing" for connection load balancing. http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Manual:PCC I understand that "mark-routing" action should be done in "prerouting" mangle rule, which is a pa...

Re: Script fails to create /export file on schedule

6.13rc6 We discovered a bug: webfig when create a script forget to set "ftp" right to the script. If the script are created by cli or by winbox, the script is working. See here for more details: http://forum.mikrotik.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=84044&p=423085#p423085 To feed more info...

Re: Script fails to create /export file on schedule

RouterOS version?
if you not use $variable, you must put the quotes and ";" at the end....

/export file="test";
mine is V6.12

no different with your suggested change, I don't think this is related to the syntax.

Could you please state the version which works with it?

Re: Mikrotik POE - 12v/24v 500ma - What uses it?

I am sorry to tell you that most of the port named "POE" on the router is only used for injecting power for router consumption itself (as a replacement for power adapter), the port cannot provide power for driving POE device.

Feature Request : Disable Wifi Radio on LCD

As a home user, This feature will be a friendly feature to enable the Wifi Radio by LCD panel as the end user can proactively control the radio without using (turn on) a wired computer. To implement this feature, my initial thought is to add an dialog box on LCD root menu to toggle the "disable...

For using the Webfig, you need to clear the web cache from the browser.
For winbox, you need to download the new winbox binary from the webfig login page
