Re: x86 Mikrotik v7 performance - choosing the x86 CPU

I'm using few servers with V7 and E2690, and it looks impressive regarding overall performance and bgp performance.
But not having a lab, to check what could be the bottleneck: the E2690 or 2x10GE ports.

Thank you, best.

x86 Mikrotik v7 performance - choosing the x86 CPU

Hello. Focusing on traffic/packet troughput with Mikrotik V7 installed directly as bare metal system, which x86 cpu processor could be more suitable for bgp full table router: Intel Xeon 2690 V4 with 14 cores at 2.60 Ghz or Intel Xeon 2699 V4 with 22 cores BUT at 2.20 Ghz BGP convergence time is alw...

Re: KVM/QEMU CHR performance

You're running BGP I presume going by the VM name. BGP performance is much improved in v7. There are threads aplenty elsewhere about BGP performance so that's likely to be your culprit. True, it is a bgp router. But in this case, it looks like a packet forwarding load insted of handling bgp process.

IPV6 + BGP + OSPF problem

Hello I have a strange problem with IPV6+BGPv6+OSPFv6. I have two routers. One of them is Juniper MX80, and the second is RB CCR. They have ospf v6 adjacency, and ibgp v6 session established. The MX80 works as bgp router reflector. CCR gets full feed bgp ipv6 table from CCR, and routes from ospfv6(a...

CCR DHCP ACK flooding problem

Hello. We use few CCR 1036 routerboards as brases(dhcp serwers,pppoe-servers). All of them work perfect since one year excluding one of them. The problem is, that the ccr from time to time (mostly every 10-15 minutes) gets ONE DHCP Request from the clients(different clients at different vlans), and ...

Re: interface arp 'reply-only' and more than one ip prefix

I'm not really sure what else to check or try. Could you try a different board to see if it's tied to just the CCR? The best thing to do right now would probably be to contact support@mikrotik.com.
I sent it to the support. I will try to check it on the different board.
Best regards.

If you statically assign them an ARP entry, are they then able to talk to the router on that subnet? Hello. Re: interface arp 'reply-only' and more than one ip prefix

From your description, you have 2 DHCP servers running on the same layer2 interface. How does the router know what address range to hand out to guests? You'll probably want to post an export of your configuration so people can see what is going on. The router uses radius serwer to set up ip adresse...

interface arp 'reply-only' and more than one ip prefix

Hello. I can observe strange problem, on CCR and 6.4/6.5 ROS version. We set up interfaces 'arp reply-only' to force clients using dhcp (dhcp server adds static arp entries for each dhcp client, and simple queue). So, if the interface had only one ip prefix, for example: 10.10.10.1/24 the clients wh...

Removing all static arp entries using one command?

Hello.
At the ip arp print, I have dynamic entries, from dhcp, and static.

My question is, how to filter and remove ALL ONLY static entries using one command like this,

/ip arp remove [ find where ??? ]

Best regards.

Re: mikrotik + freeradius + dhcp + simple queue

Are you returning a session-timeout? Or are you just using the 3 day timeout from your stock DCHP server config? Session-Timeout := ${lease time} I suspect MikroTik's DHCP server only checks RADIUS again when the Session-Timeout has expired. It may assume an infinite Session-Timeout if it does not ...
