Re: Mikrotik Rack-mounted Devices Visio Stencils

Hello everyone,

I've added some new models to the github repo.
Since I'm not going to use Visio anymore, all models will be available in SVG format only, which can be used in any application.

Re: [ATTACHED] Mikrotik Rack-mounted Devices Visio Stencils

Thanks. But why do you make it impossible to edit the shapes? I want to create a new one for CRS317 from a copy of the CCR1016 shape. But no chance. :-(
I draw on Illustrator then imported the shapes to Visio, because drawing in Visio is pure PITA.

I'll add CRS317 in the next version.

Remote filesystems on RouterOS

Mikrotik features a SMB server, using local storage.

There's any way (or plan to introduce this feature) of mounting remote filesystems (NFS or iSCSI Initiator) on RouterOS?

I know that RouterOS is not a storage server, but may be useful under certain situations.

The LCD doesn't refresh bandwidth stats with PPP interfaces on RB2011 series if the interface goes down then up again. Never worked for me.
The LCD freezes with "no link".
When not, it does not shows bandwidth stats again, until a reboot.

I agree that, even RouterOS being a router, it should have a well-featured DNS server (not like BIND9 or MS-DNS).

It should have a better integration with DHCP for hostnames too.

RouterOS is delivering his own MAC Address to clients even when it does not know the route to the destination.

I don't know your complete config but proxy-arp does not respond to ARP requests on (say) Ether X if those ARP requests are for addresses in the range A.B.C.D/Y and RouterOS itself has an address in that range on Ether X unless RouterOS also has the requested address on another interface (e.g. a lo...

Allow grouping/categorization of stuff (NAT rules, static routes, etc) in WinBox for better organization. Searching for specific rules in middle of dozens/hundreds takes a lot of time (with the risk of picking up the wrong one). Rule comments only worsens the situation.

Thanks in advance.
