Re: Newsletter 55 - new products!

Hi Guys, It would be useful for us (and other MikroTik uses) to know exactly what processes or features are multithread supported. Could you post a complete list of what features / modules or processes will work with multiple cores and how many cores they will work with maximum? If you could ask you...

Re: Newsletter 55 - new products!

Hi Guys, Once the routing is received we are still seeing high individual core usage. Once BGP has processed all of the routes it generally doesn't have to process many routes as the only change a little. We have been asking for BGP to be made multithreaded for quite some time as we are desperate to...

Re: Newsletter 55 - new products!

Hi Guys, The new products look great and I can't wait to et my hands on the CCR1072 as this looks like it has the ports that we need. Its great that MikroTik have models with multicore processors, but none of the firmware can use more than a single thread at the moment! We have a few CCR1036 routers...

Re: Mikrotik vs Cisco advice

We are a big Cisco user, but we decided to try the MikroTik CCR1036-12G-4S-EM routers and are really impressed with them. They are knocking spots off the cisco kit in terms of performance and features. We have written a script that you can use for BGP to get the neighbor information out in the same ...

Cacti Graphs

Hi Guys, We have been playing around with Cacti and have finally got it to graph the CPU, BGP Routes and Memory as well as the usual interface stats. The attached zip file (at the bottom of this post) contains the XML files which have been exported from Cacti Version 0.8.8a and are working nicely on...

show ip bgp summary

Hi Guys, I have written a script that can be used and stored on the MiktoTik Routers that will allow you to do the same as the following Cisco commands:- show ip bgp summary show ip bgp ipv4 unicast summary show ip bgp ipv6 unicast summary show ip bgp summary | include 64500 show ip bgp ipv4 unicast...

BGP Peer Print Status

Hi Guys, I have been playing with the CLI (Telnet or SSH) on the CCR1036 and trying to find a way for it to spit out certain information in BGP that we can send to a remote host to show them what we are getting. On the Cisco kit you would typically use the following show ip bgp ipv4 unicast summary ...

MikroTik NetFlow BGP AS Path

Hi Guys, We have been trying to setup our CCR1036 to monitor the BGP AS Paths that traffic is taking to and from our network. Does anyone know if the MikroTik RouterOS will output the AS Path that traffic has taken to and from an interface? We have found this post which says it is not currently supp...

Re: BGP see if Max Prefix has been tripped

Hi Guys, So if we peer with AS11 and they are announcing 100 routes to us, then we can do a filter rule to allow any prefixes originating from AS11. If they suddenly started announcing routes from AS12 then they would be blocked by the filters, which is fine. But if they leaked routes (by mistake) w...

BGP see if Max Prefix has been tripped

Hi Guys, Not sure if anyone has found a way to find out if the Maximum Prefix Limit has been tripped by a eBGP peer? We have spoken to MikroTik regarding the Maximum Prefix Limit and they have said the following:- In current version we will not change behavior.. maybe in new routing if there will be...
