Re: Routeros 7 BGP Using Smaller Prefix [SOLVED]

how do you do this when you have a connection with ipv4 and ipv6 address families ? the connection only have 1 output.network
Do you just make the same address list in both ipv6 address list and ipv4 address lists ?

Re: v7: BGP mikrotik<-->junos: Unsupported capability received, code: 128

Thanks for the reply. I saw the bfd checkbox and assumed it was supported. reading on the forum, seems not yet. disabled bfd on the session, and it came up. for other people googling, the error message was: Unsupported capability received, code: 128BgpStarter{ c=Connection{ ConnId{ 192.0.2.1:45561 -...

Re: v7: BGP mikrotik<-->junos: Unsupported capability received, code: 128

Dropping a session due to a unknown capability announcement, in the negotiation, Is a critical bug that needs fixing.

But while we are waiting for that, do anyone know how to disable pre-standard route refresh capability 80 (128) and only use the standard 02 (2) ? on cisco XR ?

best regards

Re: Random OSPF State Down

there are no dead timers or hold intervals that time out. the same instance the failover happen. that same instance all bgp and ospf sessions go out.
also the interface list and peer list is empty for a fraction of a second.

we are testing v7 in a lab. so the plan is to eventually move.

Re: Random OSPF State Down

yes L1 is good. also some of the bgp peers that drop are on a separate port and dedicated fiber outside of the ospf L1 the problem happen when a paloalto or fortigate firewall with ospf to the ccr's fail over between the active and the passive firewall device. but fortigate ospf (and unrelated globa...

Re: Random OSPF State Down

Did you ever find a solution to this problem ?
i suspect we experience the same.
all ospf and bgp sessions drop at the same time. and return a few seconds afterwards..

even bgp sessions that do not depend on ospf drop..
running 6.48.6 on ccr 1072's and ccr 1036's

jool would be an awesome addition to mikrotik. it would provide essential and critical functionality that is expected of any decent isp router noways. NAT64 SIIT MAP-T NPTv6 It would also provide the important 464XLAT/PLAT CPE functions, that ISP's are searching for now. CPE support is basically wha...

Re: Question: Best practice on IPv6NAT

your ipv6 ULA address space would be used if you did not have ipv4 on lan, so you an use it for a ipv6 only network. I can see some nihe uses for IPv6NAT. perhaps like hijacking dns queriesr and forcing them to your local pihole. temporary move a service to another ip with port forwarding while you ...

Re: v7.1rc1 [development] is released!

Hello mikrotik on this page https://help.mikrotik.com/docs/display/ROS/v7+Routing+Protocol+Status there is a very nice overview of the routing protocol features and the status of them that ROS7 have in progress. Are there any similar view or roadmap for all features ? it would make it easier to know...

Re: v7.1rc1 [development] is released!

omg .. IPv6 NAT? Now I'm kind of hyped. Always had IPv6 turned off in my main vlan because I couldn't make failover possible. So now it should be possible or am I wrong? IPv6 NAT can give you the ipv4 style design you are used to from ipv4. but ipv6 have much better solutions as well. Failover/mult...

This is a total disaster for mikrotik's future if they do not fix, before customer impact. EVERYTHING we deploy last years have ipv6, most are ipv6 only, some dualstack

Some comment from mikrotik would be nice. there is a lot of features that are becoming desperatly needed if you are going to use mikrotik things like: (in order of importance (for me) ) SIIT-DC NAT64 CLAT (464XLAT) MAP-T MAP-E lw4o6 probably some more that i forgot. most of these things have open so...

makes it sound like bgp is a ldp replacement, while it must be an addon. and that ldp is a prerequisite
